Switchboard Partnership
2022 is a very important year for Superdrug, as it marks the 5th year of Superdrug and Unilever’s partnership withSwitchboard. If you didn’t know, Switchboard are a charity that provide vital support to the LGBTQIA+ community, whether that’s helping someone understand their identity, supporting those who have felt excluded by friends or family or to lend a listening ear when someone needs it most.
To help increase the charity’s visibility and to raise funds, we’ve once again teamed up with Lynx, Vaseline, and Simple to bring you United We Stand, a campaign showcasing limited edition Pride products that you can shophere!
Clean and Clear are donating £35,000, and Marc Jacobs are donating £20,000 to AKT – a charity supporting LGBTQIA+ young people facing homelessness or hostile living environments.
Sally Hansen are donating 100% of proceeds from their Pride collection to Glaad – a charity that works to accelerate acceptance for the LGBTQIA+ community.
E.L.F Cosmetics are donating 100% of proceeds from their Big Mood Mascara to It Gets Better UK – an international movement supporting and amplifying the voices of the LGBTQIA+ community.
NYX Professional Makeup are donating £1 for every Pride product purchased to UK Black Pride.
Store Takeovers
If you popped into any Superdrug stores over June or July last year, you would have seen our big and bright store takeovers for Pride. Don’t worry if you didn’t because we’re doing it all again this year! Expect posters for United We Stand, one-of-a-kind window displays (with selected stores featuring the artwork of local artists) and much more!
Superdrag
Back by popular demand is the infamous Superdrag! Our Brighton and Manchester customers are in for a real treat as your local store will be undergoing a complete transformation. You can look forward to appearances from some oh-so-special guests and the chance for you to join in a range of activities, this is one event you won’t want to miss.
It’s time to get excited! This year we have some very special SDTV episodes coming your way for Pride Month. Hosted by none other than YouTube sensation duo – Mathew and Ryan, expect beauty challenges and confessions, coming out stories and much more.
Attitude Pride Festival
The UK’s biggest LGBTQ digital festival, Attitude at Home 2022, is set to be just as spectacular this year. And we are extremely proud to be sponsoring the Superdrag Lip-Sync, where the iconic stars of Ru Paul’s Drag Race will be lip-syncing for their lives (and certainly looking the part whilst doing it!).
Pride Month and Beyond
At Superdrug, we ensure our support for the LGBTQIA+ community doesn’t stop with the close of Pride Month. Whilst we use Pride Month as a fantastic opportunity to ensure the community rises to the top of our communications, our support for our diverse customer base extends year long. Our partnership with Unilever is now into its fifth year, with a continuing combined donation to the Switchboard charity. Internally, we’re incredibly proud of the internal LGBTQIA+ employee network, which ensures that everything we do is as inclusive and representative as possible.

Collectively, Unilever, Superdrug Own-Brand, Durex, Britney Spears and Berocca have committed to a total donation of £55,000.
