Don’t worry if you haven’t booked an appointment at the hairdressers, you can still look fresh out of a salon with a bit of know how. Achieve a bouncy blow-dry by mastering this easy technique at home.
The DIY Blow-Dry Step-by-Step
For luxurious looking locks shampoo your hair twice making sure all product residue is rinsed out completely. Only use conditioner on the lengths and ends, avoiding the roots. Start by clipping the top part of your hair up
Running a round brush underneath, apply the heat to your hair from above and roll down the hair.
Wrap your hair around the brush and apply heat – make sure your hair dryer is not too close to your tresses as this can cause damage. If you are keen on volume, make sure to add hair mousse to your roots before blow-drying. If you have naturally frizzy hair, simply add an anti-frizz serum or cream before you start to dry your locks.
Use this technique on all of the sections until completely dry, making your way up to the top
The top front sections should be blow-dried last to make them as bouncy as possible. For extra bounce and volume, blow-dry your hair with your head down for the final few minutes.
Make your blow dry last until the next Day
If you haven't added too many additional heavy products to your hair, it often can. Before going to sleep, twist your hair into a loose bun or sleep in a silk cap that will prevent hair frizz – silk pillows work too.
When you wake up in the morning, simply put your head down and brush your hair gently with a wide brush. Apply dry shampoo to the roots to revive the volume and add light hair spray to finish the look off.
