Short Hairstyles: Knotted Updo

Step 1: First, start by curling all of your hair to create loose curls. This look will give your hair immediate volume which we want for this look.

Step 2: Next, tie a ponytail on the crown of your head. Use your eyebrows are a guide of where you should pull your hair from.

You can make this as thick or as thin as you want depending on how many knots you would like.

Step 3: Pull your hair apart so a slot if formed in the middle. Twist the ponytail over and round through the slot.

Step 4: Make sure you tighten your knot! This will prevent the hairstyle falling out.

Step 5: Repeat these steps throughout your whole head ensuring you tighten the knot each time.

Step 6: When you reach the end of your hair, tuck the ponytail under your knots and seal in place with a hair pin.

If you have thicker hair then more hair pins may be required.

Step 7: To add more volume, pull and push the top of your hair.

To relax the hairstyle even more, you can pull small strands from the side of your hair out.

Step 8: Spray the finished look with hairspray to hold in place for the whole day!

Short Hairstyles: The Twisted Look

Step 1: Grab a small section of your hair and begin to twist and pin on one side of your head.

TIP: If you would like a side parting, start further along your middle parting and twist over.

Step 2: Continue to twist sections of your hair, pinning them securely into place.

Step 3: Once all of one side of your head is done, repeat the twist and pin step on the other side of your head.

Step 4: Make sure each twist is tightly secured in place. Add additional pins if they feel loose.

Step 5: Spray with hairspray for an extra firm hold. All done!
