This is why it’s important to care for your skin in the sun and to exercise safe sun practice by wearing the correct factor suncream, as well as remaining hydrated and staying out of the sun during the hottest times of the day.
However, when you have taken the right precautions and you still get burnt, well we’ve got your back – literally, and we’ll slather it with after sun for you too! Sun burn is when your skin appears red and inflamed after being dried out and damaged by the sun and can be painful to the touch, which is why when you’ve had a little too much sun exposure you want fast effective sunburn relief. After sun lotion is the most common way of calming sunburn as it works to cool the skin as well as restoring moisture that has been lost. On the bottles of most of our after suns creams, you’ll see that they contain aloe vera gel. This super moisture boosting plant is great in relieving sunburn as it helps subside pain and redness by reducing inflammation as well as by stimulating the production of collagen, which helps the healing process by improving skin firmness, dryness, and elasticity. After sun gels are not just ideal for when you’re burnt though and work great to prolong your tan and keep skin soft and hydrated, so if you’ve put in the hours to perfect your tan, be sure to apply some moisturising after sun balm to prolong it for as long as possible. Many of our formulas moisturise for up to 24hours and are immediately absorbed into the skin so there’s no stickiness and instant cooling.
