Wash them before first use. New pads feel firmer than disposable cotton rounds, and they soften noticeably after a few washes. Dampen the pad with warm water and squeeze it out before adding your cleanser or toner. A dry pad soaks up product, while a damp one uses far less. For mascara, hold the pad over a closed eye for ten seconds before wiping. That lets the remover work, so you are not rubbing. Rinse each pad straight after use and leave it to dry before it goes in the wash bag. That is what stops make-up staining. Wash them once a week in the mesh bag on a warm cycle. Seven pads means one a day between washes.
