The company created a new name using M (from Moustache) plus E (from (Emanuelle) plus XX (an abbreviation for "kiss kiss" ). Fragrances were offered by Mexx as early as 1996. The company's fragrances, like their clothing, are aimed at the sophisticated youth market, exuding a young vibe with colorful packaging and vibrant fragrance notes. Mexx fragrances were made in collaboration with perfumers Benoist Lapouza and Nathalie Lorson.
