Folate & Folic Acid
The terms 'folate', 'folic acid' and 'vitamin B9' are often used interchangeably, but there are differences. 'Vitamin B9' and 'folate' broadly refer to all forms of this vitamin; folate usually refers to the natural forms found in foods, while folic acid is the synthetic form. Together Health Folate contains natural forms of folate from spinach, without synthetic folic acid.

Folate from food is converted by enzymes into a form the body can absorb. Our advanced extraction process uses a natural digestive enzyme to pre-convert the folate into its bioavailable forms, and stability testing ensures the most stable forms remain, notably L-Methylfolate (5-MTHF).
