Warning or Restrictions
Possible side effects: You may get constipation, wind or changes in your blood while using Tums. You may get heartburn after you stop taking the tablets.
If you do get any side effects, even those not mentioned, tell your doctor or pharmacist.
Do not use this medicine after the 'EXP' date shown on the pack.

Product Uses
Do not take Tums if you:
Have ever had an allergic reaction to any of the ingredients (see ingredients list on side of pack).
Have kidney problems (eg kidney stones) or thyroid problems.
Are on a low phosphate diet. Have a high blood calcium level.
Are taking heart tablets called cardiac glycosides (eg digoxin).
Have Zollinger-Ellison Syndrome (a tumour that secretes gastrin).
Are under 12 years.
Ask your doctor before you take Tums if you:
Have been told by your doctor that you have an intolerance to some sugars.
Have diabetes.
Are taking other medicines, such as tetracycline antibiotics, bisphosphonates (for your bones) or thiazide diuretics (water tablets).
How to take Tums.
For oral use. Adults and children aged 12 years and over: Suck or chew 1 or 2 tablets when needed, up to a maximum of 16 tablets (7 if you are pregnant) in 24 hours. Do not give to children under 12 years. Do not take more than the recommended dose.
If symptoms persist, see your doctor.
If you take too many tablets: Contact your doctor or casualty department.
