What is Lutein? Lutein is a carotenoid that is naturally concentrated in the eye. Unfortunately, body stores of lutein can be attenuated due to damage caused by oxidative stress or the natural ageing process. Lutein is abundant in a range of foods, such as green vegetables, eggs and citrus fruits. However, it is considered that the average diet does not provide an adequate intake of lutein.
