Our orange essential oil is derived from the bitter orange tree. With the Latin name of Citrus x aurantium subsp. Amara, this plant is also sometimes known as the Seville orange or marmalade orange. As the common names suggest, the fruits of the bitter orange tree have long been used to make marmalade. However, it is also the crucial ingredient in many liqueurs such as Grand Marnier.
