One of the most renowned spices used in the ancient practice of Ayurveda where it has been used to address numerous medical conditions. Rich in antioxidants, it may be useful used in skincare to help revitalise the skin, in massage to help ease sore muscles and joints and vaporised help relieve feelings of anxiety.  Turmeric essential oil has been shown by scientific research conducted between 1971 and 1991 have a stronger action than hydrocortisone.  As an oil, it's also used in perfumery especially in fragrances with an oriental influence. It's a lovely oil to use in massage to help detoxify the body (ensure to dilute to a maximum of 1% before skin application).
