I used this product by putting a few spoonfuls of it into a glass bowl and heating it in the microwave until it melted. Then, I applied it to my hair as you would with hair dye using a dye application brush. (It does melt into contact with your skin, but for hair application I think it's easier to brush on in a liquid state). I tied my hair in a bun and slept with this in my hair for a good deep hair condition. In the morning I washed my hair with shampoo (twice) and conditioner. I can honestly say, my hair feels a lot softer but it didn't change the shininess of it. I personally don't like the added perfumes. When I inhaled the oil fumes coming from the liquid state I didn't like the feeling in my mouth from inhaling it (You may know what I mean if you do a lot of cleaning with chemicals). Also, the coconut oil itself is hydrogenated which means its production has gone through some chemical processes which can alter the composition of the oil. Overall, I would recommend this product. However, I personally won't be buying again as I think in future I will search for a pure organic coconut oil which won't have any additive and won't have been so heavily processed.Flag this review
i love this product! first time i used this as a leave in conditioner and i hated it as a leave in conditioner! made my hair ridiculously greasy and had to wash it out the next day but as a scalp/hair mask its brilliant as it leaves your hair feeling nourished and shinyFlag this review
I wAs shocked to see how small the tub is lol, cos it looks big in the picture and I didn't read how much ml it is but still I'm not disappointed with the product. It's perfect, it is solid in form in the tub but as soon as you touch it it slowly melts on contact. Got this for my hair and kids hair put it on couple hours before bath/shower works wonders.Flag this review
I'm so glad I purchased this coconut oil, it does wonders for my split ends! I've been dying my hair for years now and the ends of my hair are so dry as I dip dye them blonde (as we all know bleach doesn't do your hair any favours) but using this coconut oil and having a trim every 5/6 weeks keeps my ends from drying out and it's grown a lot since I've been using this aswell, which is good although my hair is super long already! The way I use this product is to tie my hair in a low ponytail and basically just wet the ponytail, let the tub of coconut oil melt a little in a jug/bowl of warm water and then use a tea spoon to scoop it out of the tub because it can still be quite tough and it gets down your nails! So scoop some out and rub it together in your hands and rub into your hair! You will be able to tell if you need any more or not. I then wrap my full ponytail in cling film and then just leave it in all night and wash out in the morning with shampoo and conditioner! It's that easy! It worked for me I'm sure it will work for you!Flag this review
I love how versatile this product is! Initially I was put off by it being solid at room temperature but actually really enjoy the gentle melt as I massage it into my skin. This is particularly effective and soothing on dry hands. I've also used it as a massage oil: my boyfriend adores me massaging his hands, scalp and any other dry areas with this. The only con would be that it contains fragrance.Flag this review
This smells amazing and leaves everything soft. If I want to use it on my scalp I hold a hair dryer to the pot for about 30 seconds to melt into an oily substance- no need for scraping it out with your nails! Left my hair super soft. Great price aswell.Flag this review
I use this product on my little girls scalp as for over two years we could not clear what we were told was cradle cap, and then what we found was eczema. One use of this and it was almost clear. It takes a couple of washes to really remove the oil afterwards but definitely worth the effort. You can leave it on for a couple of hours or better still over night, smells lovely too!Flag this review
This is a great product. Yes it's solid to start with but it you scrape some off and let it sit on your palm it melts in seconds. I use it mostly on my skin and face as it is absorbed easily and doesn't leave me with greasy skin. I use it in my hair too although just the ends as I have oily hair and if I put this near the roots I am in trouble. However if you have very dry hair from root to tip go for it and leave it in over night. I lightened all my hair recently and it has helped soothe the mid lengths and ends. I have had my tub for months and am only half way through and I have used it many times for everything from hair masks to full body rubs so it is great value for money. Also just use a little, esp on your hair as it spreads easily - it's easier to add more than take away too much if you notice your hair getting or feeling oily. Will buy again for sure.Flag this review
Love this just purchased a few days ago and just tried it on my hair it has left my hair feeling so soft and best it has felt in years, its hard to work with as its no liquid/oil formed its a bit like candel wax. I just scooped some out using a spoon and but it into a empty jar got a bowl of hot water and placed jar with coconut oil into bowl of hot water till it melts it makes it so easier to work with. My hair is really dry with colouring and also back combing and using products like hairspray. Also been told coconut oil is good for hair loss/growth a lot of asian females have been using it for many years I'm hoping it works in time also. Used a little on my face before shower and my skin feels so soft. Great product and totally worth price superdrug should try bringing out a larger tub also though above all 10/10 for this.Flag this review
My hair is extremely frizzy and knotty because my hair is slightly Curley. It also doesn't help that I have bleach and tint in my hair. I applied this by melting it till it is just started going soft and to the middle of my hair to the tips NOT the roots. The first time I used it I fell in love. My hair has never been so soft, baby smooth and knot free. Before this I have used argan oils etc from the wholesalers. But this out does all of them by far and far cheaper and you don't need a lot if you do over do it will go greasy. The only bad thing is it is so hard to get hold of because they sell out so quick. So buy loads!!!Flag this review
