    updated review

I'm posting an updated review to warn people that if you have a history of dying your black and want a colour change then don't waste your time or money on this product, go to the hairdressers and get it sorted properly, which is what I've had to do. I applied this 5 times over a space of a couple weeks and whilst it did lift some colour the colour lifted was mainly from the roots, the rest of the hair was a patchy ginger, dark brown and black, not really an ideal base to colour over. I couldn't actually stand it any longer and went to the hairdressers today to get a professional colour strip and re-colour. I'm now happy with my even light red brown colour. I think this product probably works better on hair that doesn't have a lot of colour build up but my experience with this product hasn't been great and I'll be sticking to my hairdresser for my hair colouring from now on.

    Brilliant

I have been dying my hair a dark brown for over a year, every few months. After seeing all the negative reviews I was really worried. I applied the hair product and kept it on for an hour to get the best effect and followed the instructions. The colour I ended up with was not exactly my natural colour, but it was still a lot lighter than it was. I was planning to dye it ginger after, but it had left me with an orangey tinge in anyway. I was really impressed as it was not patchy, and was all one colour after applying once! However, after a week it started to get darker again.

Hard work and patience required for those with a lot of colour build up or black/really dark hair

Ok, so I've been dying my hair black for ages and having had black stripped from my hair years ago at the hairdresser I realise that black is no easy feat to remove, so when I purchased Colour B4 I wasn't expecting miracles. It has taken 5 applications of the stuff spread out so as not to ruin my hair to make much difference. I knew the roots were always going to come out a light ginger but it's the lengths that were the problem, they were a mixture of red and black. Not really horrendous looking but not a great base to re-dye over as the hair was still too dark. I decided to give it one last shot and whilst the hair is still a little dark it is at least more brown/red looking. When the hair has rested it will be ok to put a reddy brown semi permanent dye on it. I'll then just stick to whatever dye I choose and wait for the ends to grow out. At least in the meantime it's not black. It's cost me £50 in total and I've still a bit of a way to go until I get my hair a colour I want but considering black is a nightmare to get rid of and this product has no harsh chemicals or bleach, it has done pretty well to lift as much colour as it did. Overall, stick to the instructions and if you have really dark hair and a lot of colour build up then don't expect one application to sort you out. You may need to do it a few times like I did. It requires patience that is for sure.

    brilliant

i love this hair color remover i've been using it for years, just recently used it and it always makes my hair hair go a really nice blonde/brown so i don't have to dye it straight away (but it only lasts up to 3 days, the more you wash your hair the more the color come's out ) i would definitely recommend this to anyone.

Absolutely fantastic. After following the instructions carefully, the colour turned out amazing. I have been dying my hair dark brown, almost black, for over 10 years and recently become frustrated with the grey hair showing through. This has taken me back to a beautiful glossy natural colur and the grey blends in so much better than before. I did use 3 minute miracle conditioner straight after but FANTASTIC!

    The best................

This works........ There is no doubt about it. Please note that it will bring you back to the lightest colour you ever dyed your hair ( if this is lighter than your natural colour) otherwise it will be close to your natural colour if that makes sense. Three things I would say from experience is give your hair a deep conditioning a few days before you use it and then straight after again. Your hair will be slightly dryer then before but it will bounce back very quickly. Secondly be patient and follow the instructions to the letter. Thirdly buy different gloves as the ones supplied are no good. If your hair is longer than shoulder length I would advise two boxes. I hope this helps.

    Terrible won't use it again!

I have had medium brown hair for a few year and wanted to go back to my previous colour light brown (I'm naturally blonde). I used this product and followed the instructions carefully. After using the buffer I wasn't left with the result I was hoping for. The colour hadn't budged at all. Now my hair feels very dry and stinks of egg and it's still exactly the same colour as before. Would not recommend this product and I will definitely not be using this again!!
