Want to freshen up your makeup this spring? Here’s how to get the pastel eye look for less...

Spring has sprung and this suit-every-skin-tone look spotted on the Alice + Olivia SS20 catwalk is just the update we’ve been yearning for. A low-maintenance base paired with a pastel eye is our new makeup mantra. Fancy jumping on our bandwagon?

Less is more

It’s time to give our skin a breath of spring air. Start with a generous spritz of facial spray, then apply a pore-blurring primer to prep your complexion. Work a matte foundation onto the areas of your face where you need coverage. Sweep a liquid highlight over cheekbones, nose, brow bone and Cupid’s bow, and apply a balm to the lips.

Pastel pop

Create a base for your eyeshadow with a full-coverage concealer on the eyelids. Then pack shadow on the lid and in the crease, using a flat eyeshadow brush. Dreamy lilac, mint green and perky pink all tick off the trend. Apply mascara, focusing on the outer lashes, and finish by brushing up your brows and filling with a thin eyebrow pencil, for a natural-looking shape. Simple but oh-so effective.
