Let’s face it, for most of us Christmas means feasting with friends and family swiftly followed by collapsing, full and defeated, in front of the TV. So it makes sense to be clued-up on the best Netflix box sets available – to make the very most of those hours when we’re unable to physically lift ourselves up from the sofa. Only problem is, once you start you can’t stop…

Stranger Things

This supernatural series has been received with nothing but praise since its release and trust us, you must give it a watch. A young boy, Will, vanishes from a small Indiana town, and as his family and friends search for answers they uncover the mysterious involvement of the government, supernatural forces and a strange, bald-headed girl…We can’t wait for the second series!

The Crown

The Crown follows the biographical story of the early reign of Queen Elizabeth II. As the decades play out in each episode, we come to understand more about the important events that shaped the 20th century. One to watch if you loved Downton Abbey and have a soft spot for historical fashion.

Peaky Blinders

A gangster drama set in 1919 Birmingham, England, the series is based on the notorious Peaky Blinders gang, which became prominent after the First World War. Overflowing with action and drama, the series is compelling from the get-go. Oh, and it also helps that lead actor Cillian Murphy is an absolute dreamboat!

Orange Is The New Black

Piper Chapman was just an ordinary, 30-something New York City worker before being sentenced to 15 months in Litchfield Penitentiary for a crime she committed 10 years earlier. Funny, witty and full of hilarious characters, this comedy-drama actually makes us wonder whether we’d mind being sent down for a month or two… and we honestly can’t get enough of it, so lucky for us there are four seasons to enjoy!

A Series Of Unfortunate Events

Okay, so this series isn’t out until the New Year, but it gives us a valid excuse to lounge about on the sofa just that little bit longer. We all know and love the books, and now A Series Of Unfortunate Events is being brought to life thanks to Netflix.

So what are you waiting for? Get the popcorn out and the PJ’s on! Oh, and just a heads up – you’ll probably finish one of the above series in just one sitting, but we won’t judge…
