Straight outta’ the villa, Love Island babe Olivia Attwood is the new ambassador for UTan & Tone. We get the inside scoop on her tanning routine – and some beauty secrets about Chris!
When was the first time you used fake tan?
The first time I used fake tan was thanks to my darling mother. She fake-tanned me for sports day when I was 13 because my mum’s really into her beauty products. I was complaining that I really wanted a tan because my mum and dad had just come back from holiday. You know, when you’re at that age where you go to school and everyone is like, ‘OMG you’re really brown.’ That’s when the addiction started.
What are your top fake-tanning tips?
Make sure you put your tan onto clean skin, so exfoliate, exfoliate, exfoliate. Then moisturise your hands and feet. The day after, moisturise a lot because fake tan can dry out your skin. I find UTan doesn’t cause dryness, but it’s still good to keep your skin hydrated.
How does having a glowing head-to-toe tan make you feel?
Fake tan is just a game-changer, isn’t it? You feel better, you look skinnier, your clothes look better. It’s just a winner all round.
If you were told you could only take one beauty product into the Love Island villa, what would it have been and why?
The UTan & Tone Turbo Tan. It’s not good to sit out in the sun and cook your skin to be brown.
Did you use fake tan in the villa?
Yeah, I did. I mean, I do get a good natural tan, but I like the way fake tan leaves a finish on your skin. You can never get that colour from the sun. I like to get a bit of a natural tan and top it up with fake tan.
What is your go-to signature makeup look?
Dewy foundation, big fluttery eyelashes, lots of highlighter, not too heavy on the eyes, and glossy coral lips. I like a fresh look.
Whose makeup did you envy most in the villa?
Jess is very good at doing makeup. Her winged eyeliner was on point. How does anyone have the precision to make it that perfect?
What’s the one thing you can’t live without?
Keep saying tan, don’t I? Yeah, probably fake tan – and Chris.
How long does it take you to apply your makeup?
I’ve been doing it for so many years now, I’ve got it down to a good full face in about 35 minutes. If something goes wrong in those 35 minutes, it will be about an hour.
Does Chris ever borrow any of your beauty products?
Yes, when Chris came out of the villa, he started doing photoshoots and that’s the first time he’d had to wear makeup. They put powder on his face, and he was like, ‘OMG I’m flawless.’ He was obsessed. The next day, I caught him rooting around in my makeup bag, stealing products.
Have you put makeup on for him?
No, he does it himself. I asked him if he wanted help, and he was like, ‘I know how to do it, I know how to do it!’
Wash-off tan or gradual tan?
Lipstick or lip gloss?
Lip pencil or brow pencil?
