Stuck on ideas for the right nail design for a festival? You like to stand out from the crowd, so you’re looking for bold, brilliant and unique, right? Celebrity manicurist Stephanie Staunton has designed four festi-nails just for us (disclaimer: they look insaaaane). Keep reading if you want to be a #trendsetter…
Step 1: Apply a base coat of white polish. Leave to dry, then apply a second coat. Leave to dry and harden.
Step 2: Draw four straight lines in random directions with an ordinary lead pencil. Paint over the lines with a lip brush and black nail polish.
Step 3: Choose two of three triangles at random and fill in with silver nail polish.
Step 1: Apply two layers of nude nail polish.
Step 2: Dot tiny amounts of blue nail polish onto your nail with a cotton bud, starting in the middle of the dot and swirling the polish in a circular motion. Repeat four or five times.
Step 3: Follow this process on all your nails, using a different colour each time.
Step 1: Set the base with a coat of pastel blue and leave to dry.
Step 2: Use a lip brush to paint an upward-pointing arrow with neon-yellow polish, taking it to the top of your nail. You may need to apply two coats to make the yellow really pop.
Step 3: Using the lip brush, paint pink varnish in another upward-pointing arrow, again taking the colour to the top of the nail.
Brights and gold
Step 1: Paint two coats of white polish on your nails.
Step 2: Lightly dab blue, yellow and purple colours on your nails. Use a thin eyeshadow brush to drag the colours towards the centre so they look as if they’re fading into the white.
Step 3: Pour a small amount of gold chrome nail varnish onto a piece of paper and dip an eyeshadow brush into it. There should only be a wisp of varnish on the brush.
Step 4: Starting from the outside corners of the nail, gently dust the gold polish over all the colours.
There you have it, team – so many glorious nails to fire up your festi-vibe. Nailed it!
