With St Paddy’s Day right around the corner (this Saturday, 17 March 2018, for anyone who doesn’t know), it’s no surprise that everyone’s going gaga for green makeup. We took to Instagram to find some look inspo for the occasion, and the grid didn’t disappoint. Whether you want a soft, delicate touch of the green stuff or prefer to go full-blown leprechaun, we’ve got an option for you. Here are our three fave St Patrick’s Day inspired makeup looks…
Just a hint
Desperate to have some green in your look but don’t want anything too crazy? Use the turquoise shades (fourth row down) in the MUA Eyeshadow Palette in Tropical Oceana as your colour scheme, applying the darkest to the roots of your lower lashes and blending out with a lighter colour. Keep your top lid neutral with peachy tones from the same palette. Brighten your eyes with a little B. Cassie Lomas Glitter Pigment in Shine On applied on the inner corners.
Fancy something with a little more impact? Well, we just found out where the leprechauns have been keeping their treasure. This gradient from charcoal grey to glam gold with a pop of metallic green in the middle is where it’s at. Pack the yellow-gold shadow from Makeup Revolution My Sign Eyeshadow Palette in Water onto the inner corner of the eye. Mix green shades from the same palette until you get the perfect colour balance between icy and bold. Apply this to the centre of your eyelid and blend out any harsh lines between the green and gold shadows. Mix the brown and grey shadows with a touch of olive green and blend this at the outer corner of your eye and through your crease. Mirror this gradient on your lower lash line and finish off with B. HD Lengthening Mascara to give edge to your natural lashes.
Green ’n’ glitter
For just the right amount of too much, it’s gotta be this gorgeous glittery green look – I mean who’s gonna resist a lil sparkle? Apply the matte neon green shade from Makeup Revolution Life On The Dance Floor Palette in Sparklers to your eyelid. Define the crease and outer corners of your eyes with the dark green shadow in the palette. Use the lime-green shimmer shadow to help blend the deeper pigment up towards your brow bone and make the look seamless. Repeat on your lower lash line, using the dark green at the outer corner and the lighter green towards the inner corner. For that pop of sparkle, apply Barry M Fine Glitter Dust in Gold Iridescent to your eyelid and anywhere else you want to add shimmer. Finish with a cat flick and some falsies and you’re good to go!
