The highly anticipated, star-studded film Sing hits our cinemas today, and it’s one the whole family can enjoy.
The story is set in a world of computer-animated animals, and when koala Buster Moon (voiced by Matthew McConaughey) realises he is in danger of losing his theatre after one too many unsuccessful shows, he decides to host a singing competition.
He announces the winner will receive $1,000, but when his assistant mistakenly adds two zeros on the flyer, showing the prize to be $100,000, the competition attracts a lot of attention.
The singing competitors include a pig mum (Reese Witherspoon), a bashful elephant (Tori Kelly), a gorilla son of a mobster (Taron Egerton) and a punk porcupine (Scarlett Johansson).
Sing’s upbeat humour, catchy tunes and message that collaborating can be more rewarding than competing against each other are why the film can be appreciated and enjoyed by all. It’s the perfect excuse to get yourself to the cinema this weekend – and treat yourself to a big box of popcorn!
