No matter how excited we might be for Halloween, the events and parties can creep up on us. Before you know it, it’s the day before the big night and you’ve only vaguely thought about how you’re going to look. There’s not much time, so you need something easy and effective – but, let’s face it, the days are long gone when we could throw a sheet over ourselves and go as a ghost. We’ve got you sorted, though. With these three simple micro-looks, you’ll be ready for any Halloween party.

1. Heart-shaped kiss

Draw a heart in the centre of your lips using MUA Luxe Precision Lip Liner in Red and brighten it up by applying MUA Luxe Inked Lip Stain in Maraschino over the top.

2. Time to sparkle

Using a brush, add sparkle to your lips with a dab of Bleach London Glitterati in Berwick St Floor.

3. Royal blush

Sweep a bright blush from the Makeup Revolution Ultra Blush Palette on the apples of your cheeks. You could add glitter for extra shimmer.

1. Get ready to glow

Get glowing by applying MUA Luxe Velvet Lip Lacquer in Moxie all over your lips, blending the colour beyond your natural lip line.

2. Enhance with ombré

Dab a slightly brighter colour – try MUA Velvet Luxe Lip Lacquer in Vivacity – on the inside of your lips and blend out the edges with a brush, to create an ombré effect.

3. Strip-light liner

Create the illusion of a neon effect by sketching a fine line in the shape of your lips with Rimmel London Colour Precise Eyeliner in White.

1. Create cracked cheeks

Use MUA Define Felt Liner to draw cracks from the eyes and down your cheek – they can be as subtle or dramatic as you want.

2. Add texture

Apply a liquid latex on top of some of the more dramatic cracks with a brush, to give texture. Leave to dry for five minutes.

3. Want even more gore?

Add a second layer of latex, and while it’s still tacky, break it up with a small firm brush. Neaten the cracks with a small brush and the liquid liner.
