If a festival bible existed, it would command you source bucket-loads of glitter, rock damn crazy outfits and put on a face fulla gems. So it makes sense that our hairstyle follows suit, and we think pipe braids meet the criteria because, well, they’re so festi-friendly!
Made famous by celeb hairstylist Nicci Welsh, the style was rocked by Victoria’s Secret Angel Romee Strijd at Coachella. It may look super-complicated, but rope in a friend and you will have it down in no time. To make one pipe braid, take a section of hair at the front of your hairline, followed by a section of hair from the right-hand side, and knot it over the centre section. Now take a section of hair from the left-hand side and knot it over the centre section. When you’ve tied two knots, retie the ends and start all over again. The braid is easy when you get the hang of it, as it’s just four knots over one centre section. Work your way down to the nape of your neck and secure with a hair band.
Backcomb your hair with the Superdrug Back Comb Brush to amp up the look, then spritz Style Freedom Canned Texture Spray through the ends of the hair. Accessorise your look with ribbon, glitter and coloured hairspray and you’re onto a winner.
