Summer is here and it’s all about glitter hair. We’re talking about a barnet that sparkles, spangles and creates showers of sprinkles wherever you go… It’s the ultimate festival hairstyle. But where do you start? There’s so many ways to jazz up your ’do. From glitzy roots to shimmering streaks, the world is your (very shiny) oyster. I reckoned it was time for me to get to know how to do glitter hair…
For a subtle hair halo, I thought I’d give a lil something called ‘glitterage’ a go. Yep, this is a combination of the words glitter and balayage. Painting on glow lights by hand is a tad tricky but, trust me, it’s totally worth it.

Step 1. Take a 1in-wide section of hair. Use a brush to apply lots of Superdrug Fantasy Queen of Stars Glitter Glue on it and work it all the way down to the ends.
Step 2. Using the same brush, pat Barry M Glitter Rush Body Glitter in Fireball over the glue. Don’t be afraid to use a lot – you’ll never regret glitter.
Step 3. Pat on Superdrug Fantasy Queen of Stars Hair Glitter Pot in Gold to add some extra pizazz.
Step 4. Repeat using as many 1in sections of your hair as you like.
Who doesn’t love a sweep of fairy dust on their side parting? This was much more glam than my everyday office ’do. But I’m totally thinking about switching up my everyday high pony by adding sparkle.

Step 1. Use a tail comb to create a side parting.
Step 2. Choose the side you’d like to decorate. Use a makeup brush to apply lots of glue, starting at the roots and stopping just above your ear.
Step 3. Use the same brush to pat Barry M Glitter Rush Body Glitter in Snow Globe over the glue. Now go over it with Superdrug Fantasy Queen of Darkness Hair Glitter Pot in Blue and Superdrug Fantasy Queen of Stars Hair Glitter Pot in Silver.
