Call it the Kim Kardashian effect, but the latest look that’s getting loads of likes on the ’gram? Pink hair. Yup, that’s right, the world’s gone crazy for bubble-gum-pink hair. You know, the kind you’d find on the My Little Ponies you used to play with back in the day, but a whole lot cooler.

Of course Kimmy K is responsible for the latest candy-coloured hair trend. Where she goes, Instagram follows.

The hottest hair hue this spring has got to be bubble gum.

Want pink hair? Here's how…

This is a look that’s best for bleached hair.

  • First get it tip-top with a purple shampoo rinse and allow hair to air dry, avoiding conditioner, which will make it harder for the colour to absorb.
  • Then mix your pink dye following the instructions on the packet and apply to the hair in sections.
  • Leave the dye to take hold; in most cases, this’ll be after 15 minutes or so, but again check the instructions.
  • Rinse hair with warm water and follow up with a hair mask. Voila – hair that’s 2000 and now!
