Gingham is a classic print that never fails to make an appearance in spring and summer. Just when we thought picnic print couldn’t stretch any further, it reaches our fingertips! We first saw gingham nail prints at the SS17 Henry Holland show, matched perfectly with gingham skirts and dresses. Turns out, you don’t have to be a high-fashion nail technician to create the look yourself.
What you need:
- White nail polish
- French manicure stickers or frosted striping tape
- Nail polish colour of your choice (pastels always work well)
- Top coat clear nail polish
- Nail scissors
Paint your nails with the white nail polish, adding a second coat if necessary, and leave to dry.
Paint the French manicure sticker strips or frosted tape with the nail polish colour of your choice and leave to dry.
Cut the painted frosted tape into narrow strips. If you’re using French manicure strips, they will already be shaped.
Once the white polish on your nails is completely dry, apply the coloured strips, arranging them horizontally and vertically to create a gingham effect.
Finish with a top coat and leave to dry and harden.
