If mud, rain and a compost loo aren’t up your street, switch up this weekend’s Glastonbury Festival for fairy lights, a wood-burning stove and a cuppa. And, just in case you’re hooked, we’ve pulled together some alternatives to V Festival and Leeds, too…
Dimpsey Glamping, Somerset
Say hello to luxury with this super-cute self-catering oak shepherd’s hut on a family farm in Somerset’s Blackdown Hills. The inside is kitted out with a pull-down double bed, festival-style throws, cushions, fairy lights and even a vintage record player. And then there’s the fab food: Dimpsey offers picnics and meat from the farm (and a BBQ to cook it on), and there are lots of nearby delis, cafes and restaurants. Why not finish the night off with a dip in the wood-fired hot tub? We defo would.
Merry Dale Bell Tents, Humble Bee Farm, Yorkshire
These dreamworthy bell tents in the Yorkshire Wolds give us major sleepover goals. Imagine a night in one of these stylish natural cotton canvas tents with a cosy stove burner and your BFF?! You’ll be greeted with a double bed, hot-water bottles, bunting and outdoor lanterns. Ever fancied taking a selfie roasting skewered marshmallows over a campfire? Us, too – and here you can totally do that. There’s even a fried brekkie on the cards – just pre-order the breakfast pack as an extra before you arrive and put your BBQ skills to the test. As if we weren’t already spoilt for choice, there are also glamping wigwams and yurts on offer at the farm.
Secret Cloud House Holidays, Staffordshire
Forget V Festival, these yurts in Cauldon, Staffordshire will have you jumping for joy. Each one has its own private wood-fired hot tub, with fluffy towels and robes to snuggle into when you come out. Swoon. Next up, there’s a cocoon of Egyptian cotton bed sheets, featherdown duvets and wool blankets… are we expected to get up in the morning? The answer’s no. Unless it’s to dig into the Staffordshire breakfast hamper that’s included in your stay – or relax in the Shepherd’s Rest massage treatment room.
