When contouring first became a thing a few years back, all of our makeup routines were completely revolutionised with the sweep of a dark powder and an angled face brush. Fast forward to 2017, and our face sculpting techniques have advanced so much, that we’re baking, draping, and even strobing our faces to perfection.

But this technique has given us ALL the feels to resort back to plain, old-fashion contouring. 15-year-old makeup genius @simplyyykatie took to Instagram to debut her incredible idea of 'dot contouring' - acing her base with a primer first, before using a Freedom Contouring Palette to dot shades around her face. Katie then used a damp beauty blending sponge to blend the product for a flawless finish.

But the best part? This technique doesn't just work well with contouring. It can be used with cream colour correctors too, dotted onto the skin with a cotton bud before blending out with a beauty blending sponge. We're obsessed!

Will you be trying out dot contouring? We'd love to see your results!
