We don’t know about you, but we’re a pretty nosy bunch (and see no shame in admitting it), especially when it comes to finding out about what makeup other guys and gals use. So we thought we’d dish the dirt on the war paint the DARE mag team wear every day to work, from the concealer our Ed Tory swears by to the only lip gloss Art Editor Hannah will put on her smackers. Well, when a desk is this inundated with new prods, only the best makes the grade...
I use Real Techniques Setting Brush for everything. If I’ve got to get ready in a hurry, I like a pop of Collection's Lip Colour on my lips. It makes me feel ‘done’. Tanya Burr Selfie Story Sculpt Eyebrow Pencil in Medium Brown is a really good colour and lasts for ages – and it has a spoolie at the other end. It’s a good dupe for others three times the price! Rimmel Wake Me Up Makeup Concealer hides dark circles. ’Nuff said. The last thing you'll find is L’Oreal Paris Super Liner Superstar Eyeliner in Black. It’s the blackest black I’ve ever used and the longest-lasting liner that I’ve ever used – and it has a nice spongy applicator that you can get a fine line with.
I like a heavy-duty foundation – you know, one that’s gonna give me the skin I wish I’d been born with. Maybelline Fit Me Foundation in Natural Beige is as close as I’ve come. It’s a running joke, but you’ll see me touching up with Banana Powder at least five times a day. It’s super-fine and doesn’t cake your makeup. I can’t skip blusher. I look like a sleep-starved sloth without it. Bourjois Little Round Pot Blusher in Healthy Mix is gold! Likewise, I’m a stickler for sooty lashes. Max Factor Luxe Collection Masterpiece Max Mascara is blacker than black. Finally, while I’m having a love affair with red lipstick, you can’t part a girl from a good nude. Makeup Revolution’s is creamy and doesn’t flake.

Rimmel Hide The Blemish is an old school favourite that I’ve been using since I was a teenager. It’s got a non-drying texture that my dry skin seems to love. Nip+Fab Makeup Foundation is silky and lightweight – and barely there, which is perfect for me as I hate too much coverage. I keep being told that gloss is coming back in fashion, and I was never a lipstick girl anyway. The solution? L’Oreal Paris Infallible Mega Lip Gloss in I Got The Power. I like the shimmer in I Heart Blush Hearts in Blushing Heart's pinky blush – it means my skin never looks ‘flat’, and I can top it up if I’m going out after work. I also swear by Max Factor mascaras, and Max Factor Masterpiece Mascara in Rich Black is cheap enough to stockpile. Which I do.
