The Golden Girls
It seemed that Emma Stone, Jessica Biel and Dakota Johnson took inspiration from the coveted Oscar trophy, glowing on the red carpet in beautiful golden gowns. Jessica pared back her makeup and hair and let her glimmering metallic Kaufmanfranco dress do the talking. Emma Stone – winner of the Best Actress for her role in La La Land – looked radiant in a gold Givenchy Haute Couture 20s-inspired fringed flapper-esque dress, which we seriously couldn’t get enough of. The star’s hair and makeup were pure vintage Hollywood glamour, combining a classic wave with a deep red lip. Dakota stunned in her champagne-coloured Gucci gown, which she accessorised with jewellery that had been flown in from the Cartier Paris archive collection in Geneva for the occasion. We can all dream…
Rosie Huntington-Whiteley proved pregnancy = radiance
Rosie looked nothing short of perfection as she dazzled on the red carpet in a stunning silver Versace gown. It looked as if life as an expectant mother was treating her extremely well as she showed off her bump under the figure-hugging satin dress. Oh, and her beau Jason Statham looked rather dashing, too.
Our fave hair and makeup moment of the night goes to…
Our personal Oscar goes to Emma Roberts for her beauty look created by makeup maestro Charlotte Tilbury. Describing it on her Instagram, Charlotte said, ‘The Bombshell Glow is old Hollywood meets fresh, glowing glamour. It’s all about perfected Hollywood skin, magical lights on the complexion, mesmerising eyes that play with the light, and an iconic matte bombshell red-carpet lip!’ Hairstylist to the stars Nikki Lee completed the standout look by colouring Emma’s hair with a cayenne-spice hue and then styling it in loose curls. We have seeeeerious hair envy right now.
Emma’s Armani Privé dress complemented the look perfectly.
Chrissy Teigen is once again ultimate goals
Just when we thought we couldn’t love Chrissy Teigen any more, she steps out in one of the most gorgeous dresses we’ve ever seen. Her embellished white Zuhair Murad long-trained gown, with a sky-high slit revealing her unbelievable pins, was accessoried with a metallic clutch and dangling diamond-encrusted earrings.
Naomie Harris proved you don’t need to wear a floor-length dress to the Oscars
We fell in love with this white sequinned strapless Calvin Klein gown, which Naomie paired with yellow suede asymmetrical strappy heels from CK’s autumn 2017 collection and Bulgari diamond earrings. The short-front, long-trained gown is a fashion look we’re hoping to see more of on the red carpet in the coming months.
Hailee Steinfield looked like a real-life Disney princess
If ever there was a dreamy dress of dreams, this would be it. The Pitch Perfect 2 actress turned heads in this halter-neck floral ruffled Ralph & Russo Couture gown, which was finished off perfectly with a smoky eye, bright pink lip and a sleek up-do.
What was your favourite look from the Oscars? We’d love to hear from you!
