If you’re anything like me, waking up on time NEVER happens. The chance to enjoy another 10 mins wrapped up in my duvet is too bloomin’ good to miss. While I can just about scrape enough time for mascara and (thankfully) clothes, curling my hair in the morning is a definite no-no. So, when I discovered there are ways to curl my hair without heat, I was all for it. Better yet, steering clear of tongs saves your precious hair from heat damage. Sold? Here are my top three methods…

First things first

Before you start putting your hair into curl-ready styles, prep is key. Opt for a lightweight shampoo and conditioner as heavier products could weigh down your curls (sob). I used TRESemmé Botanique Nourish & Replenish Shampoo and Conditioner, both of which are silicone-free and packed with aloe vera, resulting in weightless hair with plenty of shine.

Put a sock in it

As it turns out, socks aren’t just for your feet; they’re also the secret to a headful of curls. Starting with three chunky socks and damp hair, split your hair into three sections. Holding a sock at the scalp, wrap each section of hair tightly around the centre of the sock. When all the hair is wrapped, tie the two ends of the sock together to hold it in place. In the morning, untie and unravel the socks to reveal gorgeous, bouncy curls! Hold your masterpiece in place with a spritz of Superdrug Hairspray Natural and you’re ready to slay the day.

On a roll

If you’re looking to amp up the volume, get your hands on some hair rollers. Unless you lay your head on a cloud at night, chances are you’ll find these a bit uncomfortable to sleep in, so this method is perf for rockin’ in the daytime before a night out. Split your hair into five or six sections, then hold the rollers at the bottom of each and roll up to your scalp. Secure with a hair grip. Leave for a few hours before unrolling, to reveal large red-carpet-worthy curls.

Rock that headband

Beachy waves more your cuppa? Try headband curls. Perfect for the laziest of the lazy (aka me), this method takes under two mins to do at night and leaves your hair looking pretty damn fabulous in the morning. Starting with damp hair, pop a headband around the top of your head. Take a small section of hair from the front of your head and wrap it around the band, picking up more sections as you work your way to the back of your head. Secure with a hair grip and repeat on the other side. After your beauty sleep, take out the grips, remove the hair band and shake out the wavy curls with your fingers. If you really wanna beach it up, spritz on Style Expertise Salt Spray for added texture and hold.
