Superdrug Presents… Halloween Candy Queen Look

The spookiest night of the year is lurking around the corner! And to help everyone get into the freight night spirit, B. Cosmetics and NYX Professional Makeup joined forces with Pro MUA Dolli Okoriko (@dolli.glam) for a live event that was all treats and no tricks! 

If you couldn’t join us for Superdrug Presents… Get the Candy Queen Look, do not fret! We have the complete low-down right here of Dolli’s Candy Queen makeover and every single product you need to recreate the look. 

But First, Prep! 

No Candy Queen would head into the night without a freshly prepped base! Cleanse your skin to create a clean canvas and prep the skin with Superdrug Vitamin E Moisturising Mist and Vitamin E Moisturising Cream. 

Step 1: Boo-tiful base 

To create a seamless looking base, use the B. Filter Finish Foundation and a dense brush (or whatever feels good to you) and buff the formula into your skin, starting in the centre of your face and working outwards. 

Next, using the B. Flawless Concealer in the shade closest to your skin tone, apply to the areas you want to give extra coverage. Press into the skin with your finger. 

To give your face additional dimension, highlight the under area of your eyes, and anywhere else you want to add brightness, with a lighter concealer shade. Then, blend it out using a damp beauty sponge. Set with the B. Translucent Powder. 

Step 2: Boo! Brows

Create standout brows by drawing around the shape of your brow with the NYX Professional Makeup Epic Wear Liner in Yellow. Start from the underneath, draw over the top and fill it in. Tidy up your lines and brush up the hair with a spoolie. 

Step 3: Creepy Contour & Bewitching Blush

Using the NYX Professional Makeup Ultimate Neon Palette, it’s time to get creative with colour! Using the deep purple shades, contour the reflective points of your face – think cheekbones, top of forehead and jawline. 

For ultra-cute vibes, take the red pigment from the same palette on a fluffy brush and press on to the lower apples of your cheeks and the tip of your nose.   

Blend, blend, blend until you marry the purple and red together. 

Step 4: Eerie Eyeshadow

Apply an eyeshadow base across your lids. If you don’t have an eyeshadow base, don’t sweat it. Instead, dab a touch of the B. Filter Finish Foundation onto your lids and apply the eyeshadow on top. The base will make the colour pop! 

Use a sweeping motion to apply the eyeshadow across the lid and blend outwards onto the face. Build up the colour and get into the crease.

Create a halo effect by applying another small dab of concealer in the centre of your eye and go in with the red eyeshadow.

Blend, blend and blend some more for a seamless finish. 

Step 5: Enchanting Eyeliner & Magical Mascara

Create an incredible looking halo over your eye with the NYX Professional Makeup Epic Wear Eyeliner Pencil in Turquoise. Start in the corner of your eye and follow the crease of your eye up and over.

Going back to the Ultimate Neon Palette and with a small fluffy brush, press the electric blue pigment under the lower lash line, drag it out at the corner of your eye, and blend. 

To open your eyes and give it a more character-like feel (it is Halloween, after all), use the NYX Professional Makeup Epic Wear Eyeliner Pencil in White to draw along the lower waterline.

Next up, wing it out! Create a big wing using the NYX Professional Makeup Semi-Perm Liner in Black for added drama and repeat on the other eye. 

Finally, take the NYX Professional Makeup on The Rise Volumising Liftscara on your upper and lower lashes. Wiggle the brush through the lashes and press up and down. 

Can you see it all coming together now? 

Step 5: Possessed Pout  

If you can’t rock multicoloured lips on Halloween, when can you?! Colour in your lips with the NYX Professional Makeup Epic Wear Eyeliner Pencil in Purple and then overline them with the same pencil, but in Turquoise.

Top them with the NYX Professional Makeup Butter Gloss in Angel Food Cake which has a beautiful soft pink, mauve hint to it.

Step 6: Frightening Freckles

Time to get your sprinkle on! Using the NYX Professional Makeup Epic Wear Semi-Perm Liquid Liner in Yellow and White, draw little dashes well-spaced out across your nose and over your cheeks. How cute does that look?

Fancy turning your white dashes into a kaleidoscope of colour? Use the Ultimate Neom Eyeshadow Palette to apply a touch of colour to them, but don’t forget to leave a few white sprinkles!
