Summer 2016 sees the launch of Stella McCartney’s brand new fragrance – POP. The fragrance is a celebration of women’s individuality, authenticity and adventurous nature.
Stella’s philosophy that beauty is completely unique and that fragrance and cosmetics should simply enhance a woman’s beauty has been encapsulated in this perfume. Ground-breaking and looking to become a trendsetter, POP breaks the one-size-fits-all mould.
When asked about the fragrance, Stella McCartney commented: “POP is a spirit. It is about capturing and celebrating that very special and exciting time when you are finding yourself and coming into your own. It is about freedom, and starting your life away from judgements or labels. Together as one, these strong young women are a force to be reckoned with.”
Personifying the brand and representing the modern woman are four beautiful POP muses Grimes, Amandla, Kenya and Lola. The campaign video shot along a California desert road shows the spirit care-free spirit of Stella McCartney POP.
A Unique and Vibrant Blend Of Scents
Modern and pioneering, POP is a scent that is not afraid to blend new aromas together to create something altogether more captivating. The key notes within the scent are:
The scent is introduced by subtle hints of Green Mandarin and Violet Leaf. The fruity, citrus scents of mandarin are perfectly complimented by the soft infusions of violet leaf.
Tuberose sits at the centre of POP with a bold and iconic scent, it helps to enhance the crisp, citrus notes of the fragrance.
Grounding the scent are Sandlewood and Cedar, the mixture of these deep earthy aromas and lighter floral notes create a statement that is undeniably vivacious and care-free.
A Bold Bottle
The stripped back and minimalist bottle pays homage to the simple yet multi-faceted nature of the fragrance. The bottle design is a inverted version of the classic STELLA bottle representing the fragrances rebellion against tradition. The cap is vibrant metallic pink and based on the famous Stella McCartney medallion.
In true Stella McCartney fashion, POP and other products in the range have all been produced in a way that causes as little environmental impact as possible. The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) has certified that all of the boxes in the collection have been made from sustainably managed forests.
Not only are the boxes FSC-certified, the processes used to create the fragrance have also been taken into consideration. Using leading biomimicry technology oil from the Tuberose buds, which are a key ingredient in the fragrance, can be extracted in a much less resource-intensive way. This technology also means that one Sandalwood tree is saved for every 2,500 bottles produced which is vitally important for the now endangered species.
