Step 1 – Brush through knot & tangles

Using a detangler, brush through hair until all the knots and tangles are out. This will give you a silky, smooth starting point before styling.

Step 2 – Create side parting & braid

halo braid step 2
Begin with a side parting and brush the rest of the hair back. Taking the top section of the hair, split it into a further three smaller sections. Begin the Dutch braid by grabbing the outer section of the hair weaving it underneath the middle section. Repeat with outer section on the other side. Then start taking hair outside the top section and weaving into the braid. Continue along the front of the hair line. As you get the braid to the back of the head, swap arms around for added ease braiding. Continue braiding towards the parting.

Step 3 – Continue as normal braid

halo braid step 3
As the braid reaches the beginning, continue as a normal three-section braid until you reach the end of your hair.

Step 4 – Secure with band

Once you reach the end, secure the braid with a clear elastic band.

Step 5 – Tuck in hair tail with pins

halo braid step 5
Tuck in the braid by securing with hair pins. Use one to hide the tail end of the braid and use as many as needed to keep other strands of hair within the braid secure.

Step 6 – Tug at braid for relaxed finish

To create a more bohemian look, tug at the hair for a messier finish. Define baby hairs to frame the face. Finish with a generous application of hairspray for added hold.
