How to Get Red Snowflake Christmas Nails

Step 1: Prep Your Nails

To make sure your nail art stays on for as long as possible, prep your nails. Buff and file to the desired length.

Step 2: Base Coat

Apply the base coat nail varnish. Go for a nude shade or, if you have one handy – a transparent one.

Step 3: Paint it Red

Apply red nail varnish. To intensify the colour, apply two to three coats. Wait for the nail varnish to dry before starting on the next step. If you have a nail dryer, feel free to use it. Not to worry if not, simply wait for the nail polish to dry for about 20 minutes.

Step 4: Start Drawing

Pick one nail which you’d like to be the statement one – this is where your snowflake will go. Start drawing small dots on all the other nails. They don’t need to be in any order, simply dot around.

Step 5: Draw the Snowflake

While it may look intricate and detailed, the snowflake is easy to achieve. First, draw a plus sign and add an additional plus sign across it.

Step 6: Add the details

Add little “V” shapes to the ends of your snowflake. This will make your snowflake look really detailed. Draw a few dots around the star to finish the statement nail look.

Step 7: Top Coat

Apply a transparent top coat. Doing so will help the nail art to stay on for as long as possible.

Enjoy this cute red snowflake Christmas nails design!

Have a very Merry Christmas and a happy New Year!

How to Handle Stress During Christmas

Preparing for the most wonderful time of the year can be nerve-wrecking. Thankfully, we have a whole host of tips and tricks that can help you handle stress during Christmas.

How to Handle Stress Before the Festive Season

Be Realistic

Are you picking out all of the gifts, volunteering to decorate the house while also cooking all the family meals? Don’t over-promise and stress yourself out by doing everything alone. Be realistic and opt for the tasks you know you’ll excel at. Know your limits, learn to say no and be open to compromising.

Is It Really a Tradition?

Traditions make families stronger and bring people together. But sometimes they start feeling forced. Does everyone in your family really want to see the same Christmas play every year? Sit down together and share ideas – it may be that you start finding new fun activities that you all can do together – from winter walks to fun at the ice ring.

Do Something That Makes You Happy

It’s ok to take time out for yourself in the build-up to the festive season. It can be a trip to the spa, or just an evening of reading that book or article you wanted to finish. Don’t feel guilty or anxious about taking time to yourself – you will find that you are more productive after an evening or day of relaxation.

Divide and Conquer

During the Christmas period all of the shops tend to be packed and online retailers low on stock. To avoid disappointment and the gift of your dreams being sold out, make a game plan. Decide on the gifts that you’d like to purchase online, and what presents you’d like to pick out from the shopping centre. It’s important to enjoy the process of getting gifts (or making them!), so try not to leave it to the last minute as this may make you feel stressed and resentful.

Winter shopping season

How to Handle Stress On Christmas Day

Schedule Your Day

Sit down with your family and make a plan of how you’d like the day to run. Divide the work load to ensure the day goes smoothly. Consider every activity – from the best time to wake up, to when you’d like everyone to sit down for the festive dinner.

You Are Not Alone

Don’t be tempted to do everything by yourself. If you need help, don’t shy away from asking your loved ones for a hand. If you feel stressed, don’t hold it in as it may make you feel alone and isolated. Take a break, see what triggers your stress and talk to your loved ones.

Focus on What Is Really Important

Feelings of joy, happiness and being surrounded by people you love is what Christmas is all about. Does it really matter that your home isn’t as decorated as a scene from a festive movie? Don’t let the little things stress you out. Focus on what makes you happy about the holidays and do your best to achieve them.

Have Fun

Don't forget, it's all about having fun – whatever your Christmas plan, make sure it makes you and your loved ones smile.

Step 4: Time for Sticky Tape

Criss-cross the sticky or double sided tape and apply to your nails. Make sure you’ve cut it thinly and evenly. Choose your statement nail – this nail will have a slightly different design. Apply the tape to your statement nail so that it forms a triangle. This will be our geometric Christmas tree.

Step 5: Go for Green

Cover the entire nail on every finger with green varnish apart from the statement one; make sure the green nail varnish stays within the triangle you’ve created on that nail.

Optional: You can make the statement nail more intricate by criss-crossing sticky tape within the triangle.

Step 5: Tape Comes Off

Make sure you give time for the green varnish to dry completely. Wait at least 20 minutes before taking the tape off.

Step 6: Apply the Stickers

Once you have taken the tape off, apply the small golden star stickers to each nail. For easy placement, you can apply the stickers using a thin brush, a cuticle stick or a dropper tool to the areas where the white lines cross.

How to Stay Healthy During the Christmas Party Season

Kisses to all of you

While planning your Christmas party outfit, makeup and hair style is important, it's just as important that you feel fit, healthy and relaxed.

To help us make sure we're feeling great this festive season, we've spoken to nutritionist Charlotte Stirling-Reed to get her tips on how you can stay fit, boost your confidence and look your best this December with a few healthy tweaks.

Kisses to all of you

A Healthier Mindset

A healthy body starts with a healthy mind. Surround yourself with people who motivate you, or pair up with a friend for a joint health plan. This way you are able to support and motivate each other every day.

Delicious and Nutritious

To help you stay on track of what you are eating, keep a food diary. Doing so will let you see what your diet looks like and when you deserve a treat. Think about the 80:20 rule and just try to eat well most of the time.

You can easily avoid sugary or overly salty foods by packing homemade meals with you to work. This will allow you to be mindful of what you are eating, not to mention save up a few pounds! Having said that, don’t guilt trip yourself if you gave in and had an unhealthy snack - remember that everyone makes mistakes.

Charlotte’s Top 5 Feel-Good Food Tricks:

  • Invest in a new, smaller dinner plate which can help you eat around 20% less
  • Always keep hydrated
  • Aim for around 50% of your plate coming from veggies to help fill you up
  • Swap some meat-based meals for plant alternatives e.g. nuts, beans, lentils and chickpeas
  • Go online and search for recipes for leftover ingredients to create healthy, delicious meals

Keeping Fit Without Noticing It

Getting into the gym can get trickier when the days get colder and the nights are longer. But this doesn’t mean that you should feel bad or guilty about it. Here are a few ways you can work out without actually working out:

At Home:

  • Try marching, squatting whilst brushing your teeth
  • Do heel presses while making your morning coffee
  • If you have a stepometer, start it up from the morning

On Your Commute:

  • Take the stairs and walk up escalators
  • Walk to your destinations
  • Get off the bus a stop earlier
  • Stand up on the bus or tube

In the office:

  • Where you can, schedule meetings just outside the office and enjoy the walk there
  • Try using an exercise ball to sit on at your desk to build core muscle strength

These small healthy changes will help you feel your best during the festive season. Now, where is that little black party dress?

Easy Halloween Makeup Ideas Using Just Your Eyeliner

halloween skull makeup

No time to prepare for Halloween and your party is just moments away? Have no fear, we’ve got you covered. Follow our quick and easy Halloween tutorials where all you need is just the humble black eyeliner and a spare five minutes.

infected halloween look 7

What will I need to achieve these last minute Halloween looks?

These Halloween makeup tutorials will show you how to achieve three fun looks using just a black eyeliner. All you need to do is prep your skin, apply foundation and add a little bit of mascara – everything else can be achieved with your eyeliner.

B. B. Pro Duo Eye Liner Black £4.66 Buy Now

Look 1: Infected

Step 1

Draw a thick line underneath your eye. Make sure you cover your water line, your lash line and underneath the eye too.

infected halloween look 8
infected halloween look 9

Step 2

With a light motion, draw a thin line going down from your eye on your cheek. The line should resemble a vein or a tree branch, so don’t worry about making it symmetrical or perfect.

Step 3

From the line you’ve just completed, draw another one. This one should be much shorter and thinner. Draw another two or three “veins” connected to the main one.

infected halloween look 10

Step 4

Continue drawing at least 6 thick lines and attached smaller “veins” on each eye. These can be random lengths and varying thickness.

Step 5

After you’ve completed your eyes, it’s time to make your lips look infected too. Following the same style, draw thick lines with a few attached “veins” heading from your bottom lip to your neck or even collar bone. You can make this look as intense or as subtle as you want.

Step 6

Make sure your hair is messy. You can do this by putting your head down and messing it up with your hands or back combing it, and finally setting it with hair spray.

Look 2: 20s Flapper Girl

Step 1

Go for a sleek low ponytail or bun and make sure your hair is pulled back as tightly as possible.

20s flapper halloween 2
20s flapper halloween 1

Step 2

With your eyeliner, draw a thin round eye brow above your natural brow. Ladies in the 20s used to conceal their natural eye brows or shave them off completely and opted for a pencil-thin line instead. Don’t worry if your natural eye brow hair is left visible, simply make sure your drawn-on eye brow line is as round and dark as possible.

Step 3

Remember that flapper girls in the 20s liked a strong curl or two. Recreate this by drawing three kiss curls on both sides of your face. You can add more curls, depending on how intense you want this look to be.

20s flapper halloween 4
20s flapper halloween 5

Step 4

Line your lip with the eyeliner, making sure the Cupid’s bow is really defined. Add a beauty spot on your cheek.

Step 5

If you have some pearls in your jewellery box, these will add a glamorous touch to the look. You can also use a headband with feathers and a fake cigarette holder to really embrace the vibe of the 20s. Finish off the look by wearing a little black dress.

20s flapper halloween 6

Look 3: Skull

halloween skull makeup

Step 1

Back comb your hair to form a beehive hair style. It can be as messy or as sleek as you want.

Step 2

Using your eyeliner, mark the area of your eye you’d like to paint black to resemble the hollow area of the skull. Afterwards, paint it fully in. A great tip is to keep the top part of the skull eye curved in the opposite direction to your eyebrow.

halloween skull makeup

Step 3

Repeat the same technique on the other eye. Make sure you paint over your eye brows and your water line. This look will require a lot of eye liner!

Step 4

From the curved points on top of the skull eye, draw a few lines to resemble bone cracks. Draw a few cracks on the side of the skull eye too for extra effect.

halloween skull makeup

Step 5

It’s time to draw on the nose. Draw two triangles and fill them in. This will create the effect of a completely dark and hollow area where your nose is supposed to be. You can add a few small cracks too.

Step 6

Draw two horizontal lines from each corner of your mouth. Then draw short vertical lines on your lips across the horizontal ones. Do it both above and below the line.

Step 7

Draw arches between the short lines to create the skull’s teeth.

Ready to go!

How to stop smoking this New Year

Group of friends happy and jumping in the air as they have quit smoking

Whether you’re a social smoker or a pack-a-day smoker, stubbing out the habit for good can be hard. Yes, we all know how bad it is for our health but sometimes that physical and psychological craving defeats any logic. We’re here to tell you - don’t give up! Keep persevering by trying one or a combination of these tried-and-tested methods.

Group of friends happy and jumping in the air as they have quit smoking

What are the best ways to stop smoking?

Help from an expert

Sometimes the best first step is to admit to a professional that you want to make a change. So, have a chat with one of our in-store pharmacists or check out the NHS stop smoking service to get information and advice on your quit smoking journey.

Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT)

A dependency on nicotine is the main reason why people continue to smoke against all their better judgement. It’s also what causes withdrawal symptoms when you stop suddenly.

To help wean yourself off smoking for good, nicotine replacement therapy provides you with a low level of nicotine. By doing this you are feeding the smoking habit, but without the presence of any other harsh chemicals like tar and carbon monoxide.

NRT can be administered in various forms including skin patches, mouth spray, chewing gum, inhalators, tablets and nasal spray. You can choose to stick to one method or combine a few options, whatever works best for you – there’s no right way. Treatment should last between 8-12 weeks, before stopping NRT and smoking completely.

Stop Smoking Patches

One of the most popular ways to quit smoking is using an NRT patch. This is an easy and discreet way to help you on your way to giving up smoking.

Patches release a controlled amount of nicotine into the bloodstream through the skin. The amount of nicotine they release varies depending on the strength of the patch and whether is it a 24-hour patch or just a day-wear one. Wearing the 24-hour patch may help particularly with early morning cravings.

Nicotine Gum

Gum helps tackle the cravings by absorbing nicotine from the gum through the lining of the mouth. It comes in two doses, 2mg and 4mg, as well as different flavours. This may be a good option for you if you miss the action of smoking in particular.

Superdrug Superdrug 4mg Nicotine Replacement Gum X 96 £9.99 Buy Now

Nicotine Lozenges and Strips

Similar to nicotine gum, lozenges and strips work so that the nicotine is absorbed through the lining of the mouth. This method may be right for you in you are looking for a discreet way to stop smoking and don’t enjoy or can’t chew gum.

Superdrug Superdrug 2mg Nicotine Lozenges X 72 £13.99 Buy Now

Nicotine Inhalators or Inhalers

Inhalators may be the method for you if you miss the hand-to-mouth action of smoking. Nicotine inhalators or inhalers release nicotine vapour into your mouth when you inhale.

Nicotine Sprays

This method provides a fast relief and is absorbed through the lining of the mouth just like gum and lozenges.

Nicorette Nicorette QuickMist Freshmint Single pack 1mg £14.99 Buy Now

Switching to an e-cigarette can help you on your way to quitting for good. What is is? An e-cigarette is a device that allows you to inhale nicotine through vapour, as opposed to smoke. It works by heating up a solution that typically contains propylene glycol and/or vegetable glycerine and flavourings in addition to nicotine.

The benefits of ‘vaping’ with an e-cigarette are that the smoke doesn’t contain tar or carbon monoxide (two of the most harmful elements in tobacco smoke). It also can satisfy the habitual action of smoking. Using this method is particularly effective, but isn’t completely risk-free as it still supplies the body with nicotine.

Vype Vype ePen Black Starter Kit e-Cigarettes Each Black £19.99 Buy Now

What are the benefits if I stop?

It only takes 20 minutes for the first benefit to kick in. In less than half an hour after your last cigarette, your pulse returns to normal. It only takes hours for the next improvement to jump start. The table below shows how long it takes for your health to completely go back to normal after you’ve decided that this cigarette is your last.

There are many more benefits to stopping smoking. Your health gets better, giving way to many more positive lifestyle changes due to an improved sense of smell and taste, a brighter complexion and a heavier wallet. After all, smoking isn’t cheap.

How to apply gel eyeliner

model with brown hair winking wearing gel eyeliner

Intense colour impact? Check. Easy and smooth application? Check. Guaranteed to create a fierce cat eye? Check. Ah, gel eyeliner – you really the mega-babe in our makeup kit. If you’re yet to discover the versatility and amazingness of our ultimate bff, then these steps will help you apply gel eyeliner like a pro. Trust us, it will be love at first line…

model with brown hair winking wearing gel eyeliner

How to apply gel eyeliner

Step 1: Start with a blank canvas

Before you dive straight in, make sure you're starting with a clean and clear base. Use eye makeup remover across the eyelids before you begin - even if you don't have makeup on - this process will also pick up any excess oil too. And if you want your eyeliner to hold (say if you’re heading to a party) then add a touch of primer too.

Step 2: Coat your brush

A flat angled brush is perfect for precisely applying gel eyeliner (we're talking about the type that comes in a little pot), although you might want to mix up your brush depending on the desired effect. A wider, more textured brush if better for blending out your liner for a smokey eye look whereas a thin brush is better for precise lines.

Coat your chosen brush in gel eyeliner and do a couple of practice lines on the back of your hand to get rid of any excess product.

Step 3: Draw the line

For a classic winged look, start drawing your line from the middle of the lash line towards the outer eye, finishing with a light flick. Next, draw a line from the inner eye towards the middle, completing the line. If you have hooded eyes, try pulling the lid gently at the edges for help drawing the perfect line.

Step 4: Build it up

If you want added drama, a great thing about gel eyeliner is that it’s buildable. So once you’ve applied it once, you can go back and add more layers. If you want to go for a smokey eye, take a slightly bigger brush and smudge, smudge, smudge!

Step 5: … And repeat

Repeat the process on the other eye to complete the look and make sure to spot-check as you draw the line to keep them as symmetrical as possible.

What makes gel eyeliners different?

Gel eyeliners revolutionised the eye makeup game because they are in a word – versatile! From smouldering smokey eyes to edgy cut crease looks, this product is a firm favourite for good reason. And don’t get us wrong, we still have a place in our heart for kohl and liquid eyeliner (and every beauty lover will have their personal fav!) but if you’re looking for a one-size-fits-all product then gel is the way to go. Experiment with all three types of eyeliner to discover which one will work for the look you have in mind.

3 tips for gel eyeliner #goals

1) If you’re not as confident with a brush, simply line your eye with a kohl pencil and then trace with gel eyeliner – this way you are able to practice getting that perfect line!

2) Try a few brushes to find out which one you feel most comfortable with - everyone has their own sworn-fav!

3) If you’ve recently finished your liquid liner, don’t throw away the brush – this can be reused! Clean all the product off first and then it’s ready to roll.

The ultimate guide to foundation

set of b. makeup brushes with swatches of foundation and powder

Foundation is the makeup bag essential. A girl and her foundation is one of the strongest bonds in the world - and with good reason. Learn everything you need to know (and find your perfect match) with our easy guide to foundation.

three b. makeup brushes with swatches of foundation and powder

What does it do?

Foundation is your makeup’s support system – a right hand man, if you will. For most people, it’s the first step in their daily routine (after moisturising and priming, ofc). It helps to cover imperfections, minimise pores, and neutralise skin tones – leaving you with flawless skin. Some even come with added properties such as SPF, to keep your skin healthy and glowing. What more could you want?!

With endless shades, coverage, and finishes (we could go on), there’s a foundation for everyone. Whether you’re fighting breakouts or after a picture-perfect complexion, it’s a makeup bag essential.

Find your shade

The first step in finding your perfect foundation is finding the right shade. Otherwise, you’ll be dangerously close to looking like a wotsit. To find the right shade, you need to look at your skin’s undertone. Your undertone unlocks the secret as to why some foundations may look like your type on paper, but actually look ridic in real life.

Luckily, there’s a super easy way to figure out your undertones using the veins on your arms:

Cool undertones: If they look blue or purple, you probably have cool undertones. Opt for foundation with pink undertones to compliment you.

Warm undertones: If they appear green, you probably have warm undertones. Opt for foundation with yellow undertones.

Neutral undertones: If they’re a blue-green, you probably have neutral undertones. Opt for foundations with slightly golden or peachy undertones.

Foundation for skin types

Foundation is basically you in a group project – it does it all. Whether you have dry skin, oily skin, ageing skin, or acne-prone skin, there’s a foundation that will fix your woes pronto.

Acne-prone skin: A full coverage foundation will hide blemishes whilst a matte finish will stop any attention being drawn to the breakouts you want to cover.

Ageing skin: Avoid full coverage as they may build up in fine lines and wrinkles– drawing attention to them. Opt for lightweight finishes to hide blemishes without highlighting signs of age.

Dry skin: Don’t be tempted by heavy coverage as it will just flake away. A moisturising, lightweight foundation is your best bet. If your skin is super dry, a tinted moisturiser, BB, or CC cream might be better for you.

Oily skin: Opt for a medium or full coverage and a mattifying finish to fight shine. Even better, you could go for an oil-free foundation.

Flawless finish

We’re almost done – promise! The grand finale of foundation types is the finish.

Natural: Perfect to trick people into thinking you’re not wearing makeup.

Matte: An evening-look fave. The formula soaks up excess oil, so is great for those with oily skin.

Satin: Gives you a healthy glow. Perfect for those with dry skin a it’s not drying.

Luminous: An illuminating, radiant, glow. Perfect with those who have normal or dry skin.

How to apply

Now you know all about foundation, you need to know how to apply it. The most popular methods are…

Using a sponge: A blending sponge gives you an airbrushed finish. If you want supermodel skin: Wet the sponge, squeeze out excess water, and dab it in foundation. Then lightly tap all over your skin, turning slightly to blend.

B. B. Precision Blending Sponge £4.99 Buy Now
B. B. Foundation Face Makeup Brush £6.99 Buy Now

Using a brush: The OG way to apply flawless foundation. Swipe from the centre of your face outwards to avoid streaks. Make sure you keep your brushes clean!

Using your hands: If you’re on the go, you can apply your foundation using your fingers. Work from the centre and blend out to avoid streaks. If you have oily or acne-prone skin, it’s best to avoid this method.

Now you know all about foundation, why don’t you explore ours?

The Ultimate Guide to Nail Shapes

nail shapes

Keen on getting more creative with nail shapes? Fantastic! We’re here to talk about some of the most popular nail shapes out there. All that's left for you is to decide which one you’d like to experiment with next...

nail shapes

How to decide on what nail shape suits me most?

The first step is to look at the nail shape you naturally have and your fingers. If your fingers are delicate and slim, rounder shapes will work better. If your fingers are on the wider side, overly rounded shapes such as almond or a sharp stiletto may not look as natural, but a squared oval shape or squoval may take your manicure to the next level!

Square Nails

This shape is straight with sharp square corners. No flaring, no narrowing – just a straight shape. These are popular short, but also can be worn long.

Oval Nails

This shape is filed from the sides and the tips, creating a lovely oval shape. This is a the go-to shape to make fingers look slimmer.

Almond Nails

Say hello to oval nails’ sassier sister – almond nails! Similar to oval nails, this shape is filed on the sides ending with a round, not overly sharp peak. That’s right, just like an almond.

Lipstick Nails

Inspired by the tip of a freshly bought lipstick, this nail shape ends in a tilted triangle. Simply keep one side straight and file the other side down diagonally. Et voila – lipstick nails!

Round Nails

The round nails shape is a timeless classic. Just like square nails, it’s completely straight with the ends curved instead of squared.

Squoval Nails

Imagine merging square and oval nails, squoval nails would be the result! This means that the nails begins its growth as a square shape, only for the tip to be filed down into a gentle oval shape.

Pointed Nails

While the stiletto has a gradual sharp tip, this nail shape resembles a triangle with a seriously pointy tip.

Professional female manicure different shapes of nails. Nails trends. Vector illustration.

Cut out Nails

This nail shape starts its journey as a square, only for the tip to be cut out in an inverted half-moon shape.

stiletto nails

Stiletto Nails & Square Stiletto Nails

Stilettos are not only high heels, they are also nail shapes! To achieve this shape, file the nail to a sharp end, much more extreme than the almond shape. There’s also stiletto’s younger sister – the square stiletto shape, which means that instead of a super sharp tip, you’ll end with a square tip.

Quick note: To achieve stiletto nails, your manicurist may suggest going got faux or acrylic nails.

Professional female manicure different shapes of nails. Nails trends. Vector illustration.

Ballerina or Coffin Nails

The ballerina or coffin nail shape takes its name from the humble ballerina shoe… or coffin! This means manicured edged to resemble a triangle, but without the pointy top – instead, cut off the sharp end and file it to a flat square end.

Quick note: Just like the stiletto shape, ballerina or coffin nails can be achieved using faux or acrylic nails. Often natural nails are not strong enough to carry the shape!

Professional female manicure different shapes of nails. Nails trends. Vector illustration.

Square Round Nails

A softer version of the square nail – this nail shape is all about softening the edged of the squared tip.

Professional female manicure different shapes of nails. Nails trends. Vector illustration.

Edge Nails

This a slightly more complicated pointy nail shape. While our whole nail aimed to be a triangle within the pointy nail shape, to achieve this shape, you’ll actually have to carve out a triangle using your trusted file. Not to worry, this shape is mainly achieved with faux or acrylic nails.

Trapeze Nails

Some call it trapeze nails, some call it duck nails, others see them as flares  – this shape expands as it lengthens.

We always hear about sugar being bad for us and yadahyadah. We don't know about you, but we're tired of all that negativity. With the help of the ever wonderful Dr. Pixie, we're gonna look at the positives of eating less sugar. After all, cutting back on sugar is hard - you deserve all the motivation and applause you can get. Go you.

Supermodel skin

Sugar to our skin is like Voldemort to Harry. Okay, maybe it’s not trying to kill our loved ones and take over the world, but still. It’s the enemy. Sugar inflames your skin, leaving it red and suffering from break outs. It also breaks down collagen, leaving skin tight and prone to premature wrinkles (*gulp*). Say goodbye to breakouts and hello to skin like Bella Hadid by cutting down on sugar.

Tip: If you’re craving sugar, upgrade your water with some lemon, lime, and a sprig of mint. All the taste without compromising your complexion.

Say goodbye to diets

For some reason, people seem to think that cutting down on sugar means condemning yourself to a lifetime of dieting. Well, we’re here to tell you that, no, you don’t have to do that – that would be horrifying.

It’s super easy to pick up a choccy bar when hunger hits. We think it hits the spot, but half an hour later we’re hungry again (and craving even more sugar). This sugar cycle can lead to weight gain, health problems, and an unhealthy lifestyle. Not goals. Cutting down on sugar will mean you’ll have less cravings for it and you’ll feel fuller for longer. Not craving sugar + feeling satisfied = a smaller waistline. You see, there’s no need to diet with a healthy diet. Music to your ears, right?

Tip: If you’re craving sugar, opt for natural sugars. There's plenty of healthy alternatives with no added sugar out there.

A natural boost

Have you ever felt so sad nothing could fix it quite like a pint of ice cream? We’re all guilty of having pint pals at some point. At first it worked, and we went all carpe diem and really seized that day. Or, hour, because soon after we crashed into a mega slump.

Sugar turns our bodies into emotional rollercoasters. While it’s tempting to reach for comfort when you’re feeling down, you’ll end up feeling worse (boo). Kick out the blues for good by giving sugar the boot.

Tip: You don’t need to turn to sugar to feel better ginger, chilli, and nutmeg are all super delicious and all give your endorphin levels a boost.

Pearly whites

Our poor teeth are constantly in the wars. Sugar erodes the enamel, making your teeth weaker and open to cavities and decay. For teeth that shine bright like a diamond, cut down on sugar – particularly fizzy drinks. They’re notorious for discolouring teeth and they contain a lot of acid which dissolves enamel. Yikes.

Tip: If you really love an occasional fizzy drink, use a straw to prevent contact with your teeth.
