If you thought you had to physically visit a store to see what glasses looks like on your face, then think again!
So, if you’re currently spending some time at home, don’t live near a store or just want to find a snazzy new pair of glasses online – then here’s how you do it!
Our Virtual Mirror
If you’ve been browsing the Superdrug Glasses Online website and have found some frames which you like, then you can now ‘try them on’ using our Virtual Mirror.
To try on your glasses, click on the frames you like the look of and underneath you will see ‘view on female’ and ‘view on male’ buttons.
In the pop-up box you will see a pre-loaded person, expertly modelling your chosen specs. This is to give you an idea of what it looks like on a face in general, but what you really want is to see it on your face, right?
In the same box, in the corner you will see the choice to upload or take your own photo. If you want to take your own photo, the camera in your device will turn on and as if by magic, you will see yourself wearing your chosen frames in real time.
Alternatively, you can upload a photo and we will locate where your eyes are and apply the frames to your photo.
You can save any images you like so you can go back and compare them later
Are you ready to give it a go and ask “Mirror, mirror on the wall - do these frames suit me at all?” Hit the button at the bottom of the post to find out!
If you have given our Virtual Mirror a go and found out that the frames you liked the look of maybe didn’t suit you as much as you hoped. Or perhaps you ‘tried on a pair’ that you didn’t think would work, but actually looked fab?! If so, this is all down to your face shape.
Here is the low-down on the types of shapes our faces come in and the frames that may suit them best.
If you have a square shapes face then try out oval, cat-eye or rectangular frames with soft edges.
If you have beautifully high cheekbones and a rounded jaw, then you want to try larger frames with a wide lens or a Wayfarer style.
If your face is nice and symmetrical then try a softer frame which draws attention away from your cheekbones.
This is considered the ‘ideal’ face shape, so lucky you if you fall into this category! You can try as many frames as you like, as the chances are you will suit them all.
Balance out the features of your heart shape face with square or rectangle shaped frames.
