When you break your eyeglasses, or they are involved in an accident (re: your child or your pet runs off with them!) it’s not unusual to be worried by the thought of replacing them - especially if you are unable to visit an opticians in person. If you have found yourself in this situation lately, perhaps due to remaining at home to prevent the spread of coronavirus, then don’t worry - there is a solution!
Through Superdrug’s Glasses Online you can order your new glasses from the comfort of your home and have them delivered straight to your door.
How do I order online?
Choosing a frame
The first thing you need to do when you visit Glasses Online is to choose your frames (or the fun part as we like to think of it!)
We’ve split all our glasses into categories for you so finding your next pair of specs is as straight forward as possible. Online you’ll find both men’s and women’s categories, which are then broken down into the type of glasses you’re shopping for (single vision/ varifocals/ bifocals) and also by style, material and frame shape.
Browse around to find the right pair for you and why not try our Virtual Mirror to see what they look like on your face? Just like you would in store! You can upload an image of yourself or use the video function.
If you’re finding lots of styles that you like (we’re sure you will!), then add them to your ‘favourites’ list to compare later. Plus, you can also enjoy a 360-degree view of all our frames to get a real understanding of what they look like.
Once you’re settled on a pair, it’s time to place your order!
Choosing your lenses
Next, let us know what you intend to use your glasses for (don’t worry, you won’t need to write all your activities down and we won’t be checking up on you, you just select the best option for you) and then choose your lenses.
At Glasses Online, we offer 5 different lens packages, from bronze to platinum. So, depending on your needs you can add your extras here, such as anti-reflective coatings or opt for thinner lenses.
Adding your prescription
Next, you will need to provide us with your prescription so we can provide you the best quality glasses created especially for you.
If you have had an eye test in the last two years, then you can request a copy of your prescription from the optician who conducted your test. You then enter your prescription straight into our order form or you can email us a copy to check all the details are correct.
If you’re unsure what your prescription means, then have a little read of this guide (why not learn something new while you’re staying home?)
One more step to go!
Your pupillary distance is the measurement from the centre of one pupil to the centre of the other and we need to know this to deliver the best vision in your new glasses. If your optician hasn’t provided this for you – you can read all about the easy process here to find it out yourself, all you need is a ruler and a trusted friend.
Your glasses will be custom made and sent through a series of rigorous checks and production stages. However, we do aim to deliver them to you as quickly as possible with the majority of orders being dispatched within 5 working days.
If your order is over £30 and you live in the UK, your delivery won’t cost you a penny! Woo! For orders less than this value in the UK and around Europe there is a £3.95 charge or £6.45 for the rest of the world.
