Barry M always amazes us with its larger-than-life colour collection. And to get us prepared for summer (beaches, festivals, picnics, holidays – you name it, if the sun’s out, we’ll be there), the beauty brand's new launches are upping the amp on everything high shine. Get ready to glow, ladies!

The SS18 collection brings tons of delicious new things to the dressing table, and we're not sure whether we want to snack on them or smother ourselves in them. Barry M Lip Scrub in Mango and Ready Set Smooth Powder in Banana, anyone?

But most of all, it's the super-lustrous new additions that already have us addicted. Take the Holographic Lip Toppers, for example. Swipe the iridescent liquid over lips on its own to catch the light whichever way you turn (Instagram won't know what's hit it), or coat the non-stick gloss over your go-to lip paint to add a wow finish to your usual look. Us? We've fallen for the pearly Wizard shade.

EYES: For ocean eyes, team work really does make the dream work when you bring together new Crushed Jewel Cream Eyeshadows with the Holographic Eye Toppers. Adam advises, ‘For all-night-long mermaid eyes, apply Barry M Crushed Jewel Cream Eyeshadow in Blissful – not forgetting to enclose your tear duct – and layer the Holographic Eyeshadow Topper in Supernova on top for a super-smoky, rainbow effect.’

For an extra pop, dust the Crushed Jewel Cream Eyeshadow in Stardust under eyes, too.

LIPS: You know that lipstick that turns heads whenever you wear it? Well, it's about to be its most daring when you add Barry M Holographic Lip Topper. Adam recommends the Mermaid shade for the Ariel-esque look.

NAILS: With four amazing new sea-worthy shades in the new Barry M nail polish range the only hard part here will be making your choice. But if you've taken Adam's advice so far, trial his preferred polish Butterfly Fish to finish the look.

Junior Beauty Writer Mollie Hammond tells you how to pick the perfect scent for her

If you get a bit frazzled by fragrance, you’re not alone. Most of us have no idea what we’re doing and make a one-spritz decision. Well, DARE’s Junior Beauty Writer is here to talk you through the ins ’n’ outs of perfume picking and tell you about two of her fave scents. So whether you’re shopping for yourself or someone special, you’ll know exactly what you need to do – just in time for Valentine’s Day…

Scent styles

When choosing a perfume, it’s important you know what kind of scent you’re looking for. Confused? Let us elaborate…

Fresh: These are the kinds of scents that wake you up in the morning. Think zingy citrus and invigorating herbal notes such as orange, lime and mint.

Floral: Now these scents are just about as feminine as you get. With pretty floral notes, such as rose and jasmine, they’re perfect for gals who like a sweet-smelling fragrance.

Woody: These scents are a deeper, earthier option – perfect for date night *wink wink*.

Oriental: These are the spicy scents, so if you like the warming smells of cinnamon and vanilla, for instance, this is the scent style for you.

Not sure on notes

What in the name of Nora are notes when they’re at home? Perfume professionals talk about scent as if it’s sheet music, and it can be a bit baffling. But it’s all about what happens to scent as it dries on your skin.

Top notes: These are what you smell when you first spray the perfume. And although first impressions are important, top notes evaporate quickly (usually after about five minutes), so let the scent linger a little before you make a decision.

Heart notes: These are the smells that come through after the top notes have evaporated, and they combine with the base notes to give the overall impression of the scent.

Base notes: These are usually heavier scents, like sandalwood and patchouli. They don’t develop until about an hour after the first spritz and linger longest on the skin.

Eau de what?

All we mean when we talk about scent concentration is the strength of the perfume. Put simply, the higher the concentration, the stronger the scent and the higher the price…

Eau de toilette: This kind of scent contains the lowest concentration of perfume oil, so it’s a subtle smell and shorter lasting. It is also the cheapest in the range.

Eau de parfum: If you can afford to splurge a bit more, eau de parfum has a higher concentration of perfume oil, which makes the scent a little bolder.

Parfum: This is the strongest kind of scent and also the most expensive.

Mollie’s date-night perfume picks for her

If you’re still stuck for scent inspo, Mol’s got you covered. Here are her top two picks for date night…

Paco Rabanne Olympea

If you’re all about sweet scents, this is the one for you. It’s super-floral and fruity – the ultimate feminine fragrance.

Carolina Herrera Good Girl

Looking for something a bit sexier? Carolina Herrera Good Girl is what you need in your life – and it’s perfect for date night!

How To Use a Contour Stick

Woman holding a contour stick

Baking. Strobing. Tantouring. To the well-educated beauty lover, the world of contouring knows no bounds. But, for those that sit on the other side of the fence (aka not a vlogger/MUA/makeup addict) then it can seem a little overwhelming. What you need is a two-in-one product that can have you looking more chiselled than Kylie Jenner but without the need for a full-on glam squad. Say hello to the contour stick. Your new bestie. And here’s exactly how to use it…

Your new glam squad:

B. Cosmetics B. Pro Contour Stick Dark £8.99 Buy Now
B. Cosmetics B. Cosmetics Beauty Blender Makeup Sponge £4.99 Buy Now

Step 1 – Define with the dark contour shade

Woman with dark contour on face

Before you even take the lid off your contour stick, apply an even base of your usual foundation. You don't want this to be heavy or cakey.

Every double-ended contour stick has one end that’s for highlighting with (the lighter end) and one end for shading (the darker end). So, starting with the darker end draw along the hollows of your cheeks, trace the temples, the jawline and the sides of your nose.

Step 2 – Highlight with the lighter contour shade

Woman using light contour on face

Flip your contour stick upside down and now use the lighter cream contour to draw lines along the centre of the face.

Focus on the forehead, down the centre of the nose, Cupid’s bow, chin area, under the eyes and along the cheekbones.

Step 3 – Blend away

Woman blending contour

Using a damp blending sponge (for the best results soak the sponge until it is fully saturated and give a squeeze before using) begin blending the darker colour. Use small circular motions for a more natural finish and use the larger, rounded end for most of the bigger areas and switch to the pointy tip for precision areas (like the nose).

Once all the darker shading is blended, then blend out the lighter shade. It’s better to do this bit-by-bit so you can build up the coverage slowly.

Step 4 – The finishing touches

Woman adding highlighter to face

If you want a natural-looking matte finish then stop at step 3.

But for a more picture-perfect finish use a shimmering highlighter stick to add extra definition. The best places to apply this is along the cheekbones, nose, under the brow arch, inner corners of the eyes and Cupid’s bow. Don’t forget to blend using a flat contour brush or your trusty blending sponge.

Hair loss and what you can do about it

Male Grooming Tips

It’s one of most men’s biggest fears, and very few are lucky enough to escape it totally. Thinning, receding, balding… whatever you call it, hair loss will affect most men as they get older.

Find out what’s causing it

Now this is a tough pill to swallow but if it’s genetic, there’s no magical cure to turn it around completely. Most cases are genetic. You only need to look at your grandparents, who will bear it out. And look at grandparents on both sides – it’s an old wives’ tale that it’s just on your mum’s side. However, if your dad and grandparents have/had full heads of hair and you’re still experiencing a loss, it’s worth a visit to your GP to check for an underlying condition.

What really works?

There are only two proven treatments for male pattern baldness, minoxidil and finasteride (you might have heard of them as brand names  Regaine or Propecia). Both of these can slow down loss. Discuss what’s best for you with your GP (finasteride is prescription only), or use the Superdrug Online Doctor service at https://onlinedoctor.superdrug.com/hair-loss-treatment.html.

Talk to your hairdresser

If you’re receding in a certain way or thinning in a particular area, your hairdresser will be able to recommend some clever styling or layers that will help disguise it. Don’t panic – we’re not suggesting a Donald Trump comb-over!

Use colour

Products designed to cover up growing-out roots temporarily can be useful to disguise thinning hair. Brush or spray in affected areas, then style as usual for the appearance of thicker, denser hair.

Superdrug Superdrug Colour Fix Root Cover up Spray Brown £4.99 Buy Now

Try supplements

Healthy hair growth needs certain nutrients, so give yourself the best chance by taking a hair-growth-specific supplement.

Be gentle on your hair

Rubbing your hair vigorously with a towel after a shower might be a quick way to dry it, but it also encourages breakage, which will highlight thinning. Gently pat dry instead.

Grow bald gracefully

Once you’ve lost a significant amount of hair, it’s time to think about the best way to transition to being bald. The good news is that it can be done with style. As a general rule, short is better, so choose close crops or buzz cuts, which will look cool – and the bonus is that short hair always looks thicker.

Seek celeb inspo

Think of all the hot bald or balding men… Jason Statham (other half of supermodel Rosie H-W), Vin Diesel, Woody Harrelson, Jude Law. Do we need to go on?

How To: Heatless Wavy Hair

Woman with wavy hair

It’s no secret that heat can seriously damage our luscious locks. But curling tongs or heated rollers are essential for achieving that effortless wavy look, right? Think again. Wonderful waves can be yours in a few simple steps with a handful of budget-friendly essentials – and not a hint of heat! Trust us; it’s a game changer…

What Will I Need To Create This Look?

  • Styling mousse
  • Bendy rollers
  • Hairspray
  • Hair brush

VO5 VO5 Smoothly Does It Curl Defining Mousse 200ml £4.39 Buy Now
Superdrug Superdrug Hairspray Extra Firm Hold 450ml £1.99 Buy Now

Heatless Curls Step-by-Step

Step 1 - Apply mousse

Start off by applying some hydrating mousse to the ends of your hair. Place a small amount in the palm of your hand and run evenly through your locks for long-lasting, perfectly-defined waves. For extra definition, apply to damp or towel dried hair.

Woman rubbing mousse in hand

Step 2  - Roll into sections

It’s time to grab your bendy rollers and begin! Take a section of hair and wrap it around your roller, working from the ends to the roots and rolling under. Make sure it’s wrapped neatly and tightly, and then bend the ends of the roller together to secure in place. Repeat until all of your hair is secured in rollers.

Top tip: Wrap bigger sections for looser, larger curls.

Step 3 – Secure with hairspray

For extra hold and shine, finish with a spritz of hair spray. The longer you leave your rollers in, the more defined your curls will be. Leave them in for a few hours before a night out, or wear overnight for maximum staying power.

Step 4 – Remove rollers and brush through

Now for the big finish. Carefully unravel your rollers to reveal wonderfully-defined waves – all achieved without any heat. For a more natural finish, comb through gently with a hair brush and you’re good to go!

Valentine’s Day Ideas for Couples

Feeling the pressure to make Valentine’s Day the most over-the-top romantic date you can think of? The trick is to stop paying attention to the #BoyDidGood posts and instead celebrate your love with an idea that’s as unique as your relationship. Whether you want to go classic, cheesy or something in-between, we've got a bright idea to cater to any kind of couple.

The ‘we-just-started dating’ Ideas

Get active: In the early stages of getting to know someone nothing will break down those boundaries quicker than a little dash of awkwardness and a sprinkle of being outside your comfort zone. Book in an unusual activity date – think rock climbing, ice-skating or salsa dancing – and the rush of endorphins from the exercise will have you laughing in no time.

Walking tour: If extreme/unusual sport isn’t your thing then take each other on a little stroll of the neighbourhood you grew up (obvs, if it's feasible. Jetting off halfway across the world might seem a bit intense!). It will soon get you swapping stories and you’ll get to know more about their family life waaaaay before you ever have to meet the in-laws.

Go for drinks or dessert only: It’s not uncommon for a newly-formed couple to be still fighting off nerves/butterflies during those early encounters so cut down the duration of date night by swapping a dinner for dessert or drinks.

Valentines Day ideas for couples having dinner

The Classic Ideas

Go for a romantic meal: If it’s not broke, don’t fix it right? Whether you choose to visit your favourite local restaurant or book a fancy 7-course meal, going for some grub is a date night ritual for good reason. Or if you want to save those pennies and use Valentine’s day to spend more quality time together then cook a meal at home together.

Movie night: It can be tempting to binge-watch TV shows with your bae when they come over for a date night on the sofa, but instead dim the lights and put on a movie that neither of you have  seen before. And grab some popcorn too and a projector if you want a full-on cinema experience.

Go away for the weekend: Booking in a spa or city break is a great way to extend the romantic celebrations for a few days.

The Cheesy Ideas

Say cheese with cute pictures: Whether you blow the budget and book in a photoshoot session or visit a local photo booth, taking snaps – not selfies – together will be fun at the time and you can also look back on your Valentine’s Day in years to come. Or if you already have enough pictures to open up your own gallery then pick your favourite and create a photo wall/collage dedicated to your best bits.

Play on your hobbies: Some of the best ideas are the most personal so use your shared interests as a starting point for date and gifting ideas. If you both love travelling together then get yourself a map and in one colour pin in all the places you have been together and in another colour pin all the places you want to go. It’s sure to get the conversation flowing! Or maybe you’re both avid gamers? Then plan a night of playing a two-player classic or visit an old-school arcade.

Compliments corner: Jot down all the reasons why you love your partner and present them in unique ways – from popping notes into bottles to hiding them all over the house.

Valentines Day Ideas for Couples

The ‘we-don’t-need-to-blow-the-budget’ Ideas

Have a games night: Enjoy each other’s company by hosting a one-on-one games night with all your childhood favourites. You might want to put away the Monopoly board if your other half is a tad too competitive though.

Sweet treat: If your other half has a sweet tooth then encourage them to indulge by baking their favourite cake or dessert. Or rope them into helping you bake for extra romance brownie points!

The Creative Ideas

Stage a scavenger hunt: Create a map (could be of your home or a place you met) and get your partner to find hidden clues in certain areas until they reach a final destination where your Valentine’s Day surprise gift will be. Or maybe you’re the surprise, waiting to take them on a date night? The world’s your oyster!

Attend a class: If you both love upskilling then go to a creative class together. From cooking classes to fragrance workshops, if you can think it – it exists!

The Anti-Valentine's Day Ideas

Treat it as if it’s any other day: If you hate the big hoo-hah then simply don’t do anything. Keep to your usual routine, even if you’d usually be doing your chores mid-week. And choose to celebrate your love on your personal special anniversaries.

Do something as a group: Instead of sticking to a party of two this Valentine’s, arrange a group date activity. The more the merrier!

What’s the most romantic thing anyone has ever done for you?

Be inspired by these real-life anecdotes to help you think outside the box this Valentine’s Day:

I hate celebrating my birthday because I don’t like feeling like I’m making too much fuss and forcing people to spend money on my 'big day'. But for my last birthday my boyfriend took the day off work and organised me the best day out. Breakfast in bed, champagne brunch, a boat trip – the lot. And then right at the end of the day he suggested we go to a bar for happy hour drinks and as I walked in all my friends were there. It was the cutest surprise. Turns out I like birthdays after all!

Valentines day couple ideas stories

I always moan about being cold, like, ALL the time. And one night as I got into bed I was greeted by a hot water bottle. It was a game-changer!

He got me Taylor Swift tickets for my birthday after I had given up all hope that I’ll ever see her live!

It might not seem romantic in the traditional sense, but when my girlfriend fills up the car with petrol before I use it I really appreciate the extra thought. It’s the small things sometimes.

When I was 15 my secondary school boyfriend walked in the snow for an hour and a half to give me my Christmas present because no one wanted to drive him to my house. Ah, young love!

I had a cheese and wine night booked in with my best friends and the guy I was seeing at the time searched all over for my favourite cheese to take with me. Cheesy in a good way!

I get travel sick on boats but managed to keep my little secret from my fiancé. Fast-forward to our honeymoon and a surprise boat excursion made my stomach flip – literally. But seeing my new husband by my side and not repulsed in any way made me love him even more.

Once I called my boyfriend when I was having a super stressful day and when I got home he had run me a bubble bath, put on a Beyoncé playlist and cracked open a bottle of wine. I could have cried.

Step 1: Up your highlighter game

After applying foundation, go for a highlighter, this will allow you to achieve a truly glowing complexion.  Using a powder-based highlighter, simply highlight above your cheekbones and around your forehead. To intensify the highlighting effect, follow with a liquid highlighter. Apply above your cheekbones, bridge of your nose, under the brow arch, on your cupid’s bow and chin. Quick tip: If you want the look to be extra dewy and natural, use a beauty sponge. For an intense look either fingers or a brush will do just as well!

Step 1: Add a pop of colour to your eyes

After you’ve applied foundation and blusher, it’s time to focus on the eyes, starting with the brows. Keep them natural, so a quick brush through with brow gel will do the trick. Let’s have some fun with colour. Go for a coloured liquid liner and line your bottom lashline – as close to the lashes as possible. Don’t be scared of layering up the intensity of the colour. Afterwards, line the waterline with black kohl pencil and follow with layers of mascara on your top lashes.

Step 2: Go for a strong nude lipstick shade

As our eyes are quite fun and colourful, let’s make our lips neutral with a beautiful nude shade. Line your lips with a pencil, starting with a cross shape at the cupid’s bow. This is every makeup artist’s favourite trick as it makes applying lip liner much easier. Fill in your lips with the liner and top up with a beautiful shade of nude lipstick.

Step 3: Let’s get those grungy waves

Brush through your hair, making sure there are no knots or tangles. Section the top front of your hair and backcomb, go for two more sections from the top of your head to backcomb. Pin these in place at the back. Add hair spray, and mess it up a tiny bit more to create more volume.

Step 4: Finishing with grungy waves

Using a wand, curl only the lengths of your hair, avoiding the roots and ends. Once you’ve finished, spray salt spray all over, and scrunch up the hair for an authentic grungy finish.

Date Makeup Look for Cinema

Step 2: Make your eyes pop

Fill in your brows either with a pencil or a shade from a brow palette. Using a liquid eyeliner, draw a retro cateye on both eyes. To exaggerate the size of your eyes, line your waterline with a white pencil – this will intensify the look. After that, apply mascara only to the top lashes.

Date Makeup Look for Cinema

Step 3: Go for very berry lips

Line your lips with a berry hued lip liner, making sure you fill in your lips slightly as well. To add a lustrous shine to your lips, apply some lip balm, skipping the lipstick altogether. This will make your lip shade last for hours, no matter how much popcorn you decide to eat.

Date Makeup Look for Cinema

Step 4: Create a relaxed pony look

Section off a bit of hair above the crown and backcomb it. Repeat this on a few sections to get the desired volume. Pull all of your hair back into a lose ponytail, securing with band. To add a nonchalant vibe, pull a few hair strands out at the front. Conceal the hair band by wrapping a hair strand around and securing with a pin. To make the style last long, finish with strong hold hairspray.

Step 1: Contour your face

After you’ve applied your foundation, start contouring your face. With the darker shade, contour the cheeks, top of the forehead, temples and your neckline. The key for this is to blend, blend, blend. To soften, apply the lighter bronzer just above the darker contour. Once again, blend the colours together for a natural finish.

Date Makeup Look for Dinner

Step 2: Create metallic, smokey eyes

Prime your eyelids, and apply a light base shade. Go over this with a light gold hue, build the colour up with a slightly darker shade that you will apply and blend around the socket. Choose your third colour, an even darker one and apply in the outer corners and the lower lid, making sure all colours have blended well. Afterwards, go for a cat eye with your liquid eyeliner and apply mascara to both the upper and lower lashes. Finish your eye makeup by brushing your brows up and filling in any gaps.

Step 3: Go for a nude lip

As our eye makeup is bold, we can keep our lips beautiful and nude. Apply a neutral shade all over and top it off with a transparent lip gloss. This will make your lips bigger and shinier.

Step 4: Finish the look with beautiful curls

Apply heat protecting spray and section your hair into two: top and bottom. Take a strand of hair and begin curling, wrapping the hair around the wand right until the end, holding up to 10 seconds at a time. Once you’ve curled all of your hair, brush the curls out and apply serum to make your tresses look healthy and shiny. Lock in the locks with hair spray.

Step 1: Go for a metallic eye

Let’s start with our foundation and blusher already on. As this look is for a day time date, we won’t go for too much makeup on our eyes. Instead, we will apply a primer and follow this by adding a shiny metallic silver shade. Don’t go over your crease for this look. After this, apply a slightly darker silver close to the lash line. Finish off by lining the outside of your eye with a grey kohl pencil and topping the makeup off with mascara. If you want the look to have a retro twist, you can also go for a cat eye with the liner.

Step 2: Create a beautiful, bold lip

As our eye makeup is soft, this means that we can go bold with our lip colour. Think pink, coral or vibrant plum – any of these would look stunning for this day look. Line your lips starting with an X on the cupid’s bow and fill it in. Follow by a few coats of lipstick. Top tip: For a fuller looking lip, apply three or even four lipstick layers.

Step 3: Twist, twist, twist

Once you’ve got a middle parting, take a strand of hair from one side and start twisting. After a few twists, add more hair to the twist and continue twisting. Add another strand and finish the twist just before your ear. Pin in place and repeat on the other side.

Step 4: Finish with hair spray

To make sure the hair looks perfect throughout the day, add hairspray. Focus on the twists as these can sometimes come undone especially if it’s a windy day out there.

Step 3: Create a picnic perfect top bun

Section the top part of your hair and position it as if you were creating a half ponytail. Wrap the hair around without twisting it and secure with a band. Mess it up a tiny bit – it doesn’t have to be perfect.

Step 4: Finish off with hair spray

To make sure your look stays in place all day (especially if it is a windy day in the park!), apply tons of hairspray to the bun and your locks.

How to take your look from desk to date night

Trying to prep your look for date night, but all you have in your amo is a basic smokey eye? Well, we asked profesh makeup artist Bekki Mitchell for a fresh, new look that’ll knock bae’s socks off. The best part? It’s just a revamp of your daily makeup, so you can achieve this look al-desko (which is great, since Valentine’s Day is on a school night this year!).

1. Burn baby burn

We’re flying past hot and going straight for fire with this look. The I Heart Makeup Chocolate Elixir palette has the perfect colours for this. Take the burnt orange shade on a fluffy eyeshadow brush and sweep the pigment on to your lid and through the crease, blending out any harsh edges as you go.

2. Red hot

To deepen the crease and add some definition, we need to go darker. Using a smaller brush, take the red eyeshadow from the Chocolate Elixir palette and add that pigment to the crease and outer corner of your eyelid.

TOP TIP: The denser the brush, the better the colour payoff.

3. Golden embers

It’s date night – so we added a lil shimmer action in this look. There’s a gorge golden shade in the Chocolate Elixir palette that’s perfect for this. Pack the sparkly pigment onto the centre of your lid for a hot-to-trot halo eye.

4. Over ‘n’ under

To make this look really pop, we need to smoke out the lower lash line. Take the same burnt orange shade you used on your eyelid and blend it into the roots of your lower lashes. A small brush is best for precision here, but you can always go back in with a fluffy one to blend out the pigment.

5. Line and dine

This look wouldn’t be complete without a cheeky bit of eye liner now would it? Grab your go-to liner (we love the Gosh 24 Hour Pro Liner – it’s super-soft so goes on like a dream).

6. Lash ‘n’ dash

Pop on some falsies – you know the drill. We used Ardell Wispies (113 if you were wondering) and gave them a lick of Tanya Burr Selfie Story mascara to finish off.

7. Time to face the music

You’re almost done! Give your face a dusting of bronzer – B. Bronzer is our go to. Then sweep some highlighter onto your cheek-bones, Cupid’s bow and down the centre of your nose.

8. Pucker up, princess

This look is all about the eyes, so finish off with a subtle lip. I Heart Makeup Lip Lava glosses are smooth, easy to wear and long lasting (wink, wink!). We went for the shade Forgiven… it’s warm, it’s nude, it’s perfect.

Tried & Tested: Protein Powders

Display of three protein powders & shaker

When you invest in a whey protein powder, you’re committing to quite a lot of time to that supersize container. So, while it’s important to check out all the vital deets (nutritional content, ingredients, flavourings) to make sure it matches up with your diet and goals, it’s also equally important to consider taste.

But it might be a bit (ahem) frowned upon to whip up a tester smoothie in the protein powder aisle, so to help you out we’ve done the sampling for you. We took our top three bestselling vanilla protein powders, ditched the labels and blitzed up milk-based shakes. We called up a group of taste-testers - some were protein pros and others were self-confessed newbies - and got them to rank each one focusing on flavour and texture. And the results from the blind taste test are in…

1. Some Body vanilla protein powder

Packed with vitamins B6, B12, C and protein, this powder scored the highest in both categories and got a resounding thumbs up from the blind taste testers.

Ranked the Best for Flavour

“I’m a bit of a protein newbie so for me it’s all about picking a powder that has a great flavour to it. This one ticked all the right boxes as it has a delicious vanilla flavouring but isn’t too thick or sweet. I tried it mixed with almond milk and cow’s milk and it made no difference really – they both tasted great! Out of the three this is the one I would buy.”

2. Protein World The Slender Blend Powder

Formulated to help aid weight loss, this protein powder features 100% natural flavourings so that it’s a healthy meal replacement source.

Ranked the Best for Sweetness:

“I have a sweet tooth, so for me this one is the winner hands down. I don’t like the thicker, gloopier protein powders or shakes – I’d buy something that I’d actually enjoy drinking. I would probably sprinkle this protein powder in my breakfast smoothie or in my porridge too.”

3. Strippd Whey Lean Protein Powder

A low sugar option, this protein powder is GMO and gluten-free. Our testers preferred to mix this powder with other flavours for added sweetness.

Ranked the Best to stay Fuller for Longer:

“I take protein every day after a gym workout so I want something that’s going to help me recover and keep me feeling full until I make my way back home. I’d go for this one as it had a thick consistency, like an ice cream milkshake, but it didn’t have as much of the sweetness. I can imagine that this protein powder would also taste better when blended with fruits too so it’s more a meal than a quick shake.”
