This Christmas Superdrug is expecting the sweet smell of success as Brits look for the best prices on the high street for their Christmas gifts. Savvy seasonal shoppers who are prepared to shop around are visiting the fancy department stores to choose their gifts and then heading to Superdrug’s fragrance counters and picking up the same gift for less.

Superdrug estimates almost over a million bottles of fragrance will be sold between now and Christmas. Over £600m is spent on fragrance in the UK every year, with over 30 per cent of this being spent in the four weeks before Christmas.

Steve Jebson, Superdrug Commercial Director comments: “Fragrance is a massive part of our business especially in the run up to Christmas and with our value fragrances people can afford to buy something for everyone in the family. This year’s prediction of top selling fragrances has been interesting as we foresee customers buying more classic fragrances rather than new brands – maybe it’s a nostalgic thing.”
