What can I expect from a Superdrug Allergy Test?

Step 1
You will be asked to complete a “Clinical History Form”. This looks at personal history of significant illness, family history of allergy, significant factors relating to home and work environment etc. NB In a few cases the clinical history may highlight that a test may not be suitable or available. (e.g. food intolerance or venom/drug reactions)

Step 2
Using a simple skin prick test, we can measure your response to the most common allergens responsible for allergic disease. Results are available in just 20 minutes

These allergens include:

  • Mixed British tree pollens(early blossom)
  • Mixed British tree pollens(mid blossom)
  • Mixed British grass pollens
  • Mixed British weed pollens
  • Cat
  • Dog
  • House dust mite
  • Mould

Additional allergens are available following discussion with the nurse(£10 per allergy)

The results of the test will either confirm or refute a diagnosis of allergy. Our highly trained staff* will be able to discuss the results with you and offer advice on how to improve quality of life by improving and in many cases abolishing symptoms through avoidance advice. They will also be able to give advice on the correct use of medication when needed.
