Who is Michael Douglas?

Not to be confused with the Hollywood actor, but current resident of one of TV's biggest shows, Michael Douglas has been a celebrity hair stylist in the UK for over 15 years. With models, celebrities and publications such as Glamour, GQ and FHM vying for his time and expertise, we feel privileged here at Shockwaves to have him as our Style & Trend Director.

Having worked in the fast paced fashion industry, if anyone knows how to create on-trend stylised hair quickly and under pressure, it's Michael!

Gel, Clay,
Wax, Cream ...

There's so many to choose from! Which kind should I get that's specific to me? This depends on the look you're after. The most common perception is that gel is for a "wet look", and whilst this look can be achieved with products like Shockwaves Wet Look Gel, the main advantage of gel is actually its holding power. What not many people know is that by blow-drying hair after applying gel you can get the strongest hold without the classic "gelled look". Clays are great for achieving the messy, "out of bed look" as it gives great texture and your hair looks matt, whilst wax is great for moulding hair into the shape you want. Finally, cream formula creates an intentionally undone style and leaves your hair looking natural and unbothered.
