Here's a great look for you to try for your next festive party. It takes a classic smokey eye but adds some gorgeous gold detail and super glam lashes to make a real statement. Here are a few steps to help you get the look!

Step by step instructions on how to get the Gold Drama look
To start I always use a primer, this will not only help your make-up last all night but also gives you a smooth base to apply your foundation. We love this new Max Factor Ageless Elixir Foundation, it's really easy to apply and has a high/medium coverage leaving a really radiant finish which is prefect for this look. To finish off apply some GOSH blusher across your cheekbones. This has a lovely touch of shimmer which will make your skin glow!
Top tip: Apply this foundation with your finger tips to get a really even base. Always start from your cheeks outwards adding more product to cover up any of those areas which need an extra bit of help. If you need to use a concealer apply this under your foundation to get the best coverage.
This is where you can really create some drama! Use Rimmel Brit Collection In Black Cab for a great mix of colours all in one handy set. Apply the lightest shade over your entire eyelid, then take the middle shade and apply to the outer corner of your eye working into the middle of your eyelid. Then take the darkest shade and apply close to the lash line, working upwards to half way up your eyelid, extending it outwards to create a feline flick. Next take the Sleek eyeshadow in Gold Leaf and add this to the very corner of your eye, using a small brush to make sure it's even. Finishing by apply lashing of Rimmel Scandalise Mascara, it's huge brush combs through your lashes for perfect definition and volume.
Top tip: Before you apply your eye shadow apply a little foundation to your eyelids – this helps to create a an even base and makes sure that your eyeshadow won't crease.
With such a bold eye I always recommend a nude lip. This help to keep the attention on those amazing smokey eyes. The Max Factor Colour Elixir Lipstick in Angel Pink is the perfect shade to bring this look together.
Top tip: Once you have applied your lip colour, take a dab of highlighter and apply to the centre of your top and bottom lip – this will create the illusion of fuller lips as the light bounces off the shimmer.
