What better way to celebrate Christmas than with the best present of all - the coolest, first-ever Zoella and Tanya Burr joint cover shoot! In the midst of all the madness, we chatted about their beauty ranges, festive plans and projects for 2017...
10 minutes with Zoe
Hey Zoe, welcome to your DARE cover shoot - are you having a good day?
Yeah I'm loving it. It's so much fun. It's not every day you get to dance in confetti to Christmas music and eat gingerbread men with one of your besties, is it?
Nope, definitely not. So what's your fave thing about the festive season?
It's hard to pick. I love everything - and it's the perfect excuse to put fairy lights absolutely everywhere. I love picking presents for friends and family, and wrapping them in creative ways. And there really isn't anything better than listening to Christmas music and doing a spot of festive baking.
Does Alfie get into it as much as you?
He's not as into the decorating side of things, but I think he appreciates it when it's all done.
What are your plans this year?
I'm hoping for snuggly evenings curled up on the sofa with Christmas movies, hot chocolate and my fave people.
Sounds perfect. So, let's talk about your new beauty range. Why the gingerbread theme?
I wanted a seasonal scent, and nothing says Christmas quite like gingerbread. It's up there with my favourite smells. It's got a lovely hint of vanilla, too, so it's really wearable. It'll help you get into the festive spirit while you're pampering yourself.
Do you have a fave product from the range?
That's tricky because I love everything! The crackers are fun and different from anything I've done before. I love the Secret Santa set - anything in miniature is just adorable.
What's the best thing about having your own products?
It's being able to design and create things that I'd love to have myself, which is so cool.
What about Tanya's range - what do you want most from that?
I love her 12 Days Of Christmas Beauty Calendar. It's great and makes the run-up to Christmas more exciting!
What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever done?
I haven't had that many weird fan encounters. A lot of my viewers are lovely and friendly. I do remember a girl once asked to stroke my hair, which I guess could be considered a little too friendly!
It could have been worse! If you could give your 15-year-old self some advice, what would it be?
Be yourself, and don't worry about what everyone else is doing. Stay focused on where you want to go, no matter what hurdles you face.
You must get a lot of negativity on social media... how do you deal with it?
I try to ignore it. Negativity breeds negativity, so I keep my head up and remember that people who know me and love me are the ones who truly matter.
Any New Year resolutions yet?
I think, possibly, to look after myself a bit better. I'm always making sure everyone else is looked after and put myself last, which is a habit I want to try to crack.
Finally, what's 2017 got in store?
I'm sorry to be that annoying person who says I can't tell you yet... but I can't tell you yet!
10 minutes with Tanya
Hey Tanya, how much are you loving your second DARE cover shoot?
I'm having the best day ever with Zoe!
What's been your favourite part so far?
I totally loved it when we took handfuls of gold glitter stars and blew them at the camera.
Yeah, we love those pics, too. So, can you tell us about your new Christmas range?
It's full of limited-edition products in gorgeous snowy packaging. I love how different the colour scheme is from last year's. The range has moved on, too - it's become much more beautiful, more chic and very pretty.
Defo, we adore it. What products do you think you'll use most?
Well, I was showing my mum the other day and we swatched it all, and I don't think I could choose just one thing. Every time I use something, I fall more in love with it. The colours and textures are just so incredible.
Can you pick something from Zoe's range instead?
I love her Hungry Hands Hand Cream. It has an amazingly addictive gingerbread, Christmassy smell, which I absolutely love. I think the formula is really great, too.
It does smell so good. We know you love Christmas, but what are you most excited about?
Our annual Christmas party. It's so great to have all my friends and family getting festive together.
What's your go-to festive make-up look?
I love wearing a berry lip and a shimmery, smoky eye.
Pretty. What's the best beauty tip you've ever been given and who was it from?
My sister-in-law Sam [Chapman] taught me how to blend eyeshadow, which is a really valuable thing for a polished make-up look.
Yep, that's very important. How do you take a perfect selfie?
It's all about confidence. I can only take a good selfie if I'm feeling really good on that day.
Makes sense. And do you always feel the pressure to look good on social media?
Of course! But I'm happy to go on camera without make-up.
Is there anyone you think always nails it on the red carpet?
At the minute, I'm loving Bella Hadid. She's just so effortlessly beautiful.
Yep, totes! We're obsessed with her. What makes you happy?
Bubble baths, definitely. Reading. My dog, Martha, who's on the shoot with us today. Jim, my husband. And... baking!
And - last question - what do you have planned for 2017?
My life is so crazy and busy right now that I'm trying to take each day as it comes and enjoy the ride. So I'm not really sure yet what's planned for next year. I have so much I want to add to my make-up line. I want to travel more and work hard on my videos - and I've got a couple of other projects in the pipeline, too.
