It's time to flip your usual eye make-up on its head. Keep the eyelid subtle and neutral, and focus all the action on the under eye...

Step One

Start by applying an eyeshadow primer on eyelids and under eyes, to make sure your hard work isn't wasted.

Step Two

Apply a soft, neutral eyeshadow with a touch of shimmer on your eyelids. 'You don't want anything to take away from your dramatic smoky under eye,' says MUA ambassador and make-up artist Karla Powell.

Step Three

Run a black eyeliner along your lower lash line. Karla recommends gel liner. 'It creates a soft look, which can be smudged and smoked out but will also last all day - and night - long,' she says.

Step Four

Finish with a slick of mascara - and add a pair of false lashes for even more drama, if you like.
