Spring has officially sprung and we have every reason to be excited. Yeah, yeah lighter nights and warmer days is great and all, but we have other reasons as to why this season is shaping up to be our fave by far. The S/S 17 fashion trends have left us with emoji hearts in our eyes thanks to its inherently upbeat attitude. From bright, block colours that demanded outright attention, to radical mix ‘n’ match styling that looks so effortlessly cool it gives us the confidence to give it a go. Here are our fave fash trends you have to try this Spring…

FLORALS? FOR SPRING? GROUNDBREAKING…

…goes the famous line we’ve all recited from The Devil Wears Prada. But this time around they really are and we were blown away with the sheer variation of florals that were coming down S/S 17 catwalks. We were bloomin’ loving the head-to-toe floral looks seen on the Marques’ Almeida, Chloe and Balenciaga runways.

COLOUR POP

Get your shades at the ready because block colours are here and the general consensus is: the brighter, the better. Pink triumphed at Paris Fashion Week, with Valentino, Céline and Balenciaga all choosing different, standout shades of the hue. Pink not your thing? Get on board with any other of the eye-catching multicolours seen on S/S 17 catwalks.

MIX & MATCH

Although this trend may seem daunting, when done right you can’t deny just how cool it looks and Dolce & Gabbana, Mui Mui and Gucci provided us with some serious mix & match inspo. Keep to the same colour palette for a more put-together look or go all out by clashing your top and bottoms with different patterns.

STRIPE ME UP

Stripes have long been in our heart and now we have even more of a reason to love ‘em. Mulberry and Proenza Schouler didn’t hold back, sending models down the catwalk in head-to-toe stripes. Of course that’s not to say you yourself have to go full striped steam ahead. Give a nod to the trend with a striped mini dress or a barcoded pair of heels.
