Because it’s not just for cooking…

1. Makeup remover

Slather a penny-sized amount of coconut oil over makeup and watch it melt away. Not even the heaviest-duty waterproof mascara stands a chance!

2. Body scrub

Coconut oil may feel smooth, but mix a tablespoon of it with a handful of coarse sugar and it becomes an instant exfoliator. Use this magical concoction to buff your body, and watch your dry skin disappear.

3. Pre-shampoo hair treatment

Melt 2 tablespoons of coconut oil in your hands and smother all over hair an hour before your wash for a super-deep-conditioning treatment.

4. Deodorant

Yep, ACTUAL deodorant. Add 3 teaspoons of baking soda, 3 teaspoons of cornflour, 2 teaspoons of arrowroot powder and a drop of scented oil to 3 teaspoons of coconut oil for nature’s answer to keeping body odour at bay.

5. Bug-bite relief

Dab coconut oil on mozzie bites, bruises and burns for a super-gentle but VERY effective soother.

6. Dandruff treatment

Coconut oil acts as an intensive treatment to pack the moisture back into your scalp and help get rid of unsightly flakiness. Massage a coin-sized amount of coconut oil into your scalp and leave it on for 10 minutes before rinsing it out with warm water.

7. Body oil

Smooth onto your skin after a shower to lock in moisture, or warm up 2 tablespoons of coconut oil in the microwave, then mix with 1 teaspoon of peppermint oil for a luxurious massage oil.

8. Shaving gel

Prevent razor nicks in your skin by applying coconut oil to your pins before shaving.

9. Whitening toothpaste

Switch up your regular toothpaste for coconut oil three times a week. Put a teaspoon of coconut oil on your toothbrush, scrub as normal, and watch the pearly magic happen!

10. Under-eye bag buster

Apply a tiny dab of coconut oil to the under-eye area to banish dark circles and fine lines.
