I bought this with a primer (Rimmel), a stippling brush, and the matching 125 powder. First of all, I love the packaging. The pump means that there's no mess and in terms of size, the bottle is about the same length as my hand. As for the foundation itself, it has a light, creamy texture, and blends well. It doesn't smell when applied to the face and as I'm new to regular, everyday make-up, I try to keep it as natural-looking as possible and therefore embrace the lighter coverage. If you're someone who's looking for heavier coverage, then unless you've got some great concealer, or have other products to hide those blemishes, this isn't the product for you. I have a line of acne scars on the left side of my face which curves round my cheek bone and eye socket, and this foundation doesn't cover those up all too well. Having said that though, for smaller scars and plain redness on my cheeks and forehead, it evens the tone very nicely. It feels very smooth on the face and doesn't look blotchy or go flaky/patchy throughout the day, however, I think it's slightly too dark for me. When I first put it on, it looks almost like a peachy colour, and I need to wait for it to oxidise. I still haven't decided if, once it's oxidised, it is the right colour, or if it is a pale peach and is a tad too dark for me. And for that reason, I'm not giving it the full 5 stars. I'm beginning to wonder whether I should go out and buy a paler foundation that I can then mix in with this one to get a lighter, half-way tone. To wrap up, if you're going for the natural look with light coverage, and you have fair leaning towards a medium skin tone, then for the love of God, buy this product. If you're however slightly paler like myself, then you'll need to use the tester to work out for yourself whether it's for you. If Maybelline brought out a 110 or 105 then I'd definitely buy that.Flag this review
